Certainly different.

The origins of the original Snuff movie come to light, Dan learns a little more about Melody.

I think this is going to be the first polarising episode of this series, people are either going to love this one, or really dislike it. It really does represent a massive switch, not just in its appearance, it feels very different too.

Personally, I really did enjoy it, the present day story moved up a notch, and we got a few answers. However it was the trip to the past that I most enjoyed, visually stunning, the costumes, the sets, it looked fabulous, I really liked that whole 1920's vibe.

They still managed to pack in a few scares, and one rather horrific moment.

Georgina Haig was terrific as Iris Vos, her British accent was spot on.

Loved it, 8/10.

Ritual, sacrifice, old tape

Warning: Spoilers
An episode who is focus on Iris Vox and we know more about the origin of the ritual. We saw a crual sacrifice at the end and the young girl that they hired was that one sacrificed. We saw also the reason behind this. They tried to summon a demon in the real life and that gone wrong. Like the Visser Building. Dan and the friend thought that the brother of Davenport did a ritual and they put the fire in the building. An interesting episode with some nice events and revelations. I found it more interesting and the end let us want to know what Dan will do to find Melody.

[8.2] The terrible "melody" of the past
cjonesas22 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 7: A semi-great episode with awesome 1920s background story and "flashbacks" and an average present one. You can clearly see the difference of acting and atmosphere in both.

The lead role (Dan) is so uncharismatic and uptight and nearly ruins every episode all by himself including this one.

In fact, all women actresses ( e.g. Georgina Haig, Dina Shihabi...) do a far better and terrific job than their male counterparts.

S1.E7 - Kaelego [8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S1. E7) My Live Reaction / Review for Archive 81 Season 1 Episode 7 ''The Ferryman''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Dan keeps having these crazy dreams. So Dan wont be restoring tapes anymore? Then how we will learn more about Melody, Samuel and the rest? In this episode we get to see more about the cult and I like that. This maid saw them killing that woman and she chose to stay with them? She is nuts. Iris thinks that Kaelego can give her eternal life and give her a child too? Yeah, good luck with that. Demons only destroy things and they don't follow orders from humans. So Melody is trapped in the otherworld? What does this even mean? Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 8/10.

Certainly different but

In a bad way. Such a promising start is slowly, maybe too slowly, moving in a downwards spiral. The writers seem to have lost direction the further the series goes on. The acting gradually decays as well.
