Last month, it was announced that writer/producer Judalina Neira is developing a TV series reimagining of the classic sitcom Bewitched for Sony Pictures Television, aiming to turn it into an “irreverent hourlong” show. NBC clearly likes the idea of reviving Bewitched, because now Deadline has broken the news that the network has their own “Bewitched-inspired” show called Something Wicked in the works, and this one already has a star attached: June Diane Raphael, who may be best known for playing the character Brianna Hanson for the 94 episodes that make up the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, which ran for seven seasons.
Raphael is also writing and executive producing Something Wicked with Dickinson creator Alena Smith. A multi-camera comedy, the show is described as having a Bewitched-type premise and will also serve as an homage to TV sitcom classics. NBC is hoping to tap into the magic of classic sitcoms for its new comedy series Something Wicked, which is said to have a “Bewitched-type premise.” As reported by Deadline, June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie) will star in the multi-camera comedy, which is currently in development at NBC. Raphael will also serve as writer and executive producer on the project alongside Dickinson creator Alena Smith. The show is described as “an homage to TV sitcom classics” and will examine the condition of modern adult womanhood and how, even with witchcraft, balancing everything is impossible. Bewitched originally aired on ABC from 1964 to 1972 and starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens, a witch who marries an ordinary mortal man and vows to lead the life of a typical suburban housewife. The show was an instant hit with viewers, and in 2002, TVGuide ranked it as No. 50 on the 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time.

Sideshow Brings Frankenstein'S Monster To Life: "First brought to life by the words of Mary Shelley, the creation known as Frankenstein’s Monster has taken on many forms throughout popular culture. Inspired by the iconic literary character and his visual legacy across the centuries, the Frankenstein’s Monster Statue by Sideshow honors the creature’s horror roots and tragic nature with a new, original design.
This stunningly detailed, fully sculpted piece shows the hulking figure cloaked in the pelt of a black bear and clad in patchwork pants. Two large electrodes emerge from his back and silver staples hold his reanimated flesh together. He is painted with a cadaverous mixture of yellows and reds, emphasizing how Frankenstein’s creation straddles the line between life and death.

The Alienist Season 2 Episode 4
After two weeks, we’re already at the halfway point with The Alienist: Angel of Darkness. It’s still a mystery as to why TNT is blowing through original programing when every content provider is about to be facing a drought in the months ahead. However, what Is Not a mystery is who murdered Martha Napp’s baby. As predicted during the previous episode, there was something off about nurse Libby, and she proved it in “Gilded Cage” by attempting to murder an undercover Bitsy and by successfully offing the matron.
The matron’s death is one of the series’ most disturbing scenes to date. Teeth black from charcoal, Libby raves like a lunatic about wanting sanctuary while simultaneously blaming the matron for her role in the hospital and her treatment of the staff. She stabs the matron several times in the neck,...

Rarely does a crime show build to a satisfying reveal if the series settles in on its first suspect, then reveals that suspect to be the killer. That’s why despite the circumstantial evidence pointing at the matron, Dr. Markoe’s right hand woman at the Lying In Hospital, it seems almost too obvious that she’s the culprit. However, the episode certainly wants you to think that the barren, slightly crazy-eyed matron has kidnapped the Linares baby, with a lot of “Labyrinth” dedicated to investigation and plot. However, the final stinger, that whoever harmed the baby fed it breast milk, seems to suggest the show is already moving away from the matron.
That said, the episode only truly came alive after Dr. Kreizler indulged in a little too much fruity brandy and champagne. John Moore’s Bachelor Party was...

“Get in good trouble. Necessary trouble,” is a famous quote from the late civil rights leader and United States politician John Lewis. Since his passing this week, the quote has been on my mind, for a variety of reasons, and I thought about it again watching “Something Wicked.” Sara, John, and Laszlo are experts at creating necessary trouble, but it certainly attracts attention and enemies. We know that former police chief Thomas Burns isn’t fond of our central trio, but now they’re attracting the ire of the infamous gang the Hudson Dusters, Dr. Markoe, and even William Randolph Hearst.
Having so many opposing forces standing in the way of justice for Martha Napp and the location of Ana Linares has The Alienist: Angel of Darkness already feeling more dangerous and complicated than last season’s more straight forward whodunit.

Word of mouth is still very much a thing in the entertainment world. Films, TV, books, and comics all benefit I would imagine as much from strong word of mouth as from advertising. Sabrina is a case in point. Being honest, this is not normally a book that would be on my immediate radar. I’m aware of the character, and of the recent Netflix show but little else beyond that. What I am aware of is that last year’s Sabrina mini-series, also by Kelly Thompson and Veronica Fish, was a bit of a sleeper book, that then grew into a cult hit, that finally morphed into a full blown success. That doesn’t happen by accident and, Archie Comics being a clever bunch, a second limited series – subtitled Something Wicked – has been greenlit and put out now.

The title "City Upon A Hill" insinuates a genesis tale is on the way, but that's egregiously misleading. Not much about Pilcher's Eden becomes clear in Wayward Pines' sixth episode, but the inferences and visuals are chilling enough to jar even the most hardened stomach. Something wicked (or maybe simply survivalist) is brewing among the Abbies, but once again the episode leaves us with more questions than answers. Not a judgement, just an observation. Shyamalan manages to keep a stranglehold on his secrets while tantalizing the hell out of us without boring us into giving up.

If 2016 sees the release of a better horror movie than The Witch, we are in for one hell of a year. Emphasis on that “hell,” because writer/director Robert Eggers‘ tale of sin, paranoia, and unfiltered evil in 17th century New England is unholy brilliance. This is already a frontrunner for one of the best movies […]

Considering all of the posthumous releases that are primed to grant audiences one last glimpse of an actor or actress who left this life too soon, Brittany Murphy’s name comes as a startling inclusion given it’s the year 2015. After passing away on December 20, 2009, her last role will come some six years later as a child psychologist in Darin Scott’s psychological thriller Something Wicked. Why do I mention this fact? Only because of the disturbing pull quote on the front of the DVD sleeve for Something Wicked – “Brittany Murphy’s Final Movie.” Am I the only one who takes issue with such a blatant exploitation of the actress’ unfortunate passing?
But this isn’t an editorial on the morality of marketing material. My only job here is to review a film that comes across as a tonally ambiguous psycho-thriller that blends the blinding qualities of love with the unpredictable state of mental illness.

It's hard to believe, but Brittany Murphy--who won our hearts as way harsh Tai in Clueless--passed away more than four years ago. Yet it is only now that her final film role is coming to theaters. It's a thriller from director Darin Scott called Something Wicked and you can get a peak at it above in its newly unveiled trailer. THR has shared Something Wicked's first preview, which sets up a story of a beautiful woman experiencing some serious trauma. One Tree Hill's Shantel VanSanten stars as Christine, a bride-to-be with a bright future whose life is thrown for a look when a gruesome car accident kills her parents. As her wedding day approaches, however, her grief is just the beginning of her problems. Is it post-traumatic stress--as Murphy's psychiatrist character diagnoses above--or is she being stalked? Let's be honest: this trailer is an absolute mess.

We all miss James Gandolfini but have no fear, if you didn't get a chance to see last year's fantastic "Enough Said," the late star still has a final appearance in the crime thriller "The Drop" from director Michaël R. Roskam and written by Dennis Lehane ("Shutter Island," "Gone Baby Gone," "Mystic River"). The main star of the film is Tom Hardy as Gandolfini's onscreen nephew. Fox Searchlight will release the movie on September 19. And it looks intriguing!
Another late star we missed is Brittany Murphy but finally, her last film is being released after hiding on the shelf for a while. "Something Wicked" will open in Eugene, Ore. Why Eugene? Because that's where the movie was shot. If you're in Eugene and want to see Murphy's "Something Wicked," the release date is April 4th and it will expand to 19 other locations. It's a psychological thriller about a couple falling apart.
