Great Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Stop Dragon My Heart Around was emotional, funny and had a hell of a cliff hanger. The monster at the end reminded me of the baby that stalks you in house beneviento in Resident Evil Village. Everything is setup to for a fun action-packed finale and I can't wait.

ROCK!

Warning: Spoilers
( NOTE: I can't do a plot summary since I am very exhausted from writing an overwhelmingly huge review that I had to finish last night. )Man, Auggie seriously blamed it on "Chris" for apparently killing his brother while you allowed them to fight, lol. Another brilliant episode that focuses on setting up the epic finale, fantastic character development (( especially with Harcourt & Adebayo getting along. Jesus Christ, that heated argument was a ride. ))

R. I. P. Murn, though. He was a great character & leader managing to cope with issues. There's not much for me to say anymore since he's a very complex character, but he had a good sacrifice. It was even sadder when Harcourt recovered the butterfly's corpse. Darn you, James Gunn. I can't believe I'm feeling sad over a damn alien Butterfly lol.

The humor is always great, especially laughed where Judomaster gets made fun of by two guys and Judomaster returning the favor with the Lucky Charm's dance, lol. Plus that moment where Adebayo freaked out to her girlfriend on the phone that she saw "an eagle hugging a man" lol. Well, thank god Eagly didn't die. Great action scenes where Judomaster and Harcourt duel which was brilliant. White Dragon's outfit is fricking rocking it.

I'm disappointed with the duel between Peacemaker & Vigilante against White Dragon. I was sincerely hoping it would be epic, but nope. It was resolved too quickly, and I wanted more brutal action. Oh well, there is stuff that I did like during the duel which was Cena's acting and having the guts to kill his father. Although Chris' dad was evil and a horrible human being, it was still his father. Dude, if Auggie comes back as a butterfly. Well damn! My respect goes out to Robert Patrick & Chukwudi Iwuji's wonderful performances.

The team dynamic is killing it as always. I like the moment where Dye-Beard stands up for Peacemaker like he accepted who he is. That has to be the worst timing where Vilginate states: "Dude, this is a really weird time to do your fact exercises. I mean, I guess you don't get a totally sick, jacked face like yours without dedication, but..." followed by Dye-Beard responding: "He's crying, azzhole." My god, that "cow" is a fugly living thing. I can't wait for it to get blown up like Starro! Shortest episode, but still manages to pay the execution well. I can't wait for the finale!

10/10.

The best episode of the show
vicetoca10 February 2022
This episode is incredible, we had a lot of character development, especially with Peacemaker and his father, although the rest of the team also had their moment to shine in this section. The action as always spectacular, a solid direction and very impressive special effects considering its budget. It was the saddest and most emotional episode without a doubt, they gave us scenes with a lot of heart capable of making us cry. An explosive and emotional episode that prepares us for the end of the season. The final scene of the episode managed to freak me out like I haven't done in a horror movie in a long time.

Awesome

Warning: Spoilers
This episode provides all the right emotions at the right moments. Chris has to face his father, and it is truly moving. Harcourt continues to grow and evolve as a character and will make a terrific leader. Adebayo reflects and is remorseful. Economos gets his moment to shine. We also get the scare of our life with Eagly, a couple of tears are shed. Murn's character is also gone, the butterfly inhabitating him being dead.

It just all keeps moving at a brisk pace, and the objective is clear for the finale. The team is back together kinda. Also, the music is great. Can't wait.

I had no clue that a relationship between John Cena and an eagle could be so moving.

Good action and very funny. Vigilante is like Deadpool but funnier and better.

Broken ribs & stolen cars
Couchkik2010 February 2022
Absolutely amazing combination of hilarious jokes, heartwarming team building and soul-crushing family drama. Again this show nails the balance of fun and pain. Every single scene hits right at the heart, a silly fight in front of a deli, a father and son arresting moment, Vigilante psychotic tendencies, a dying little insect hand. Gunn is a master at building a subtle flashback and dropping bits here and there throughout the season. Peacemaker has the look of a ridiculously dumb A-TEAM kind of show but truly is it's all about the emotional journey of a grieving man but with the volume control to the max.

So good

After watching the finale for the book of Boba Fett, this makes me happy.

Funny, good action and heart scene. Though the death of that character came quick, considering the 'realism', itll be like that some time.

I'm looking forward to the season finale.

Probably the best episode yet
lemmonsjack10 February 2022
Super emotional episode with major payoff and story progression and even though the episode is in general very dark and serious there are still hilarious bits throughout. Vigilante is the best and Peacemaker is proving itself as one of the best Comic Book shows of all time.

Great story, great character development, and funny as hell. And the #meto joke was just hilarious. John Cena again proves he'll knock it out of the park when he gets the right character and has a brilliant showrunner like James behind. Episode after episode peacemaker is proving that it's one of the best shows right now. Vigilante, eagly was🔥 Team peace all the way

Right Time to Rock
dannylee-7808211 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I understand the overall high rating of this episode - it was a great one. But nonetheless, I want to comment on a couple things.

We finally see what happened to Peacemaker and his brother. Pretty cruel setting - betting on your kids' fight. However, I felt that portraying the end of this father-son relationship was a little tacky. There were some cliche-esque moments that I didn't particularly found naturally emotional. The White Devil was a cool character and a nice costume but that whole action sequence felt rather weak compared to what we've been getting so far. I wish they delve more into it and portrayed the trauma in a more creative way.

That being said, I appreciate the decision to kill off two main characters swiftly, Murn and Auggie. Those two were interesting characters that needed to go in order for the plot to not drag behind and push forward.

Great music choice as always. If some Netflix shows adopted a trend of using old soul and disco music, Peacemaker really set its own trend on using rock/metal bangers.

For 7 episodes right up to the finale, Peacemaker as a show managed to take a well-deserved place in the DCEU and you'd be foolish not to adapt Peacemaker into your DC repertoire. We already know what's coming to the finale (destroying the Cow and saving the planet) so I hope they tie it up well.

Annoying character

There is one character who has been super annoying since the very early episodes of the show, the character has nothing to do just be in the team and make me not wanna watch the show.

Great Penultimate Episode
MamadNobari9710 February 2022
Well this show is a testament to even most toxic things can bring good things. We probably or most definitely wouldn't've gotten The Suicide Squad and this great show, if it wasn't for cncl cultr cancelling James Gunn. So see? Even twtr can make something good happen once in a while!

Anyway, this episode was great like the last one and concluded the White Dragon competently, albeit a little too soon.

There are some surprisingly good emotional moments, one which is about an alien bug!

And most serious and emotional scenes have that immediate MCU jokes but I don't care because they are funny and I don't take this show too seriously.

The last scene was great and I'm glad they actually showed it in this episode and not make us wait a week to see what it looks like.

So thank god for James Gunn making superhero stuff that are actually fun, although they don't quite have the depth as some of the other great movies and shows, but it being fun is more important and Gunn knows how to make it fun. So I hope he keeps making these fun movies and shows for a long long time.

Not a fan. But definitely a fan.
swmyers12 February 2022
It's funny, I've never really been a big fan of John Cena. Suicide Squad was fine. I didn't really enjoy it until Starro popped up. However, I am enthralled by the character created in this series. I find him incredibly moving. And I have been completely sucked in to the story here. I'll admit, Eaglely is my favorite character by far!

There's no wrong time to Rock n' Roll!
Wookie_Wookie10 February 2022
This might just be the episode yet, no spoilers but the stuff that goes down in this episode is really good payoff for what happened before and leaves you eager for what's to come next. The comedy was hitting, the emotional beats were there (Seriously John Cena has really improved as an actor), the suspense was killer, and without saying anything the final scene must have cost a fountain to render because the THING was really well detailed. Amazing episode, amazing show, and it got me in a good mood after The Book of Boba Fett dropped the ball, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK GUYS, PEACE OUT!

Week after week, this show only gets better. And this episode served up gut punch after gut punch. Only one episode left, and I'm sad! Can't wait to see how this season ends, but don't want it to end at all! One of the best comic book based shows out there, rivaling the likes of Daredevil.

The best blend of comedy and emotion makes for the best episode of the season
wcallum-637676 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The stuff with peacemaker and his dad is great, the banter between PM and Vigilante shows how great their chemistry is, has good action and some pretty great emotion, but the thing that is the funniest moment of any show I've watched is when PM and eagley are bro Hugging with this dramatic music in the background and the looks on their faces being so serious, with this being a crucial plot point and Leota being moved and I think brought to tears, had me laughing more than any other Tv show I've ever seen.

Finally we understand everything
braininacat19 February 2022
This episode wrapped up any loose ends or questions you might have had about plot. Still lots to know about backstory but we get a ton of answers here and it's done very well. The action and cgi work both look fantastic in this and it really stands out. I did notice there was a different director for this one and it does feel a bit different then the rest of the story but that could just be them trying to connect a lot of dots in na small amount of time.

Excited for the end soon!

Stop Dragon My Heart Around
lassegalsgaard27 May 2022
If one thing is sure about James Gunn's latest work, it's that all of it is based in some kind of personal legacy. With both of his "Guardians of the Galaxy" films, a lot of it was about going against the person that you'd been raised to be and becoming who you were meant to be. His heroes always had roots in that place. With "The Suicide Squad," he continued that to a certain extend. However, "Peacemaker" has seen a full return of that principle. With Christopher Smith, we knew from his first appearance that he'd been trained to kill from a very young age and had seen mental abuse at the hands of his father. However, the show put all that into a very unique perspective and gave the character a lot more trauma from that than simply having turned into a badass super-soldier who would kill everyone in his way to obtain peace. In this penultimate episode of HBO Max's "Peacemaker," that legacy comes in full focus as Peacemaker finally has to face off against his dad and his band of white supremacists, while also finding a way of escaping the captivity of the law who also wants him out of the picture. This episode provided a lot of satisfying narrative closure for some plotlines, while expertly developing others and preparing the audience for an explosive finale. It achieved its goals with flying colors, showing that this show is one of the best that you'll find at the moment on any streaming service.

The episode opens with a powerful scene showing what happened to Chris' brother, something that has previously been hinted in episodes prior. This proved to be the perfect way of opening up the floodgates of this episode and prepared the audience for an emotional showdown between Chris and his father. It once again goes to show the abuse and mental issues that had occurred within Chris due to his father and everything, he forced those young boys to go through. It's a tragic opening, but one that gives us all the details that we need to know before the showdown.

But what they've managed to do with this show is bring Chris to a place where he feels like he's found a new family. Or at least, he did. Before Gunn decided to take it all from him again with the ending of the last episode. It's a smart way of keeping Chris in this motion of trauma and pain that will never go away before he learns to face it head-on. It's also a way of keeping him in his old ways, forcing him to keep being who he is, which is probably not going to hold much longer.

And they continue that into the big battle sequence of this episode. It's clear that Chris is not going to let his father get away this time, something signaled by the choice of opening. And the entire sequence was filled with a lot of great emotion and a very fun cat-and-mouse game. It brings the power dynamic back into the game and we see them both coming at each other with everything they have. The difference in determination is very powerful but is also helps making the climax of the battle all the more entertaining and a very satisfying conclusion.

At the same time, Gunn also progresses the story, as its finally revealed what "the cow" actually is, and the revelation is both a lot of fun and disgusting. Gunn has been able to build a show on the shoulders of character development all throughout, but he's never lost focus of the mission that the guys are on. I'm constantly impressed with his ability to juggle a lot of different things at the same time, especially as a writer. I should also say that Brad Anderson, who directed this episode, did a marvelous job and deserves a lot of praise.

In "Stop Dragon My Heart Around," all the punches are thrown and hits the emotional nerves, as well as the adrenaline need that we have. It's a powerful episode that leads beautifully into the finale and sets up a lot of things that we can only hope they deliver on when the finale starts rolling.

Stop Dragon My Heart Around
Prismark1018 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The twisted family dynamics between Auggie, Peacemaker and his later brother are explored.

Auggie wanted to toughen up his kids and it ended in tragedy. As always he is not willing to take the blame for his role in his son's death.

The White Dragon now wants to kill Peacemaker. Maybe Auggie thinks that will wipe away his guilt.

As the penultimate episode the stakes are raised and the show takes a more serious tone as it milks the tension for all its worth.

Murn knows all about Leota but he wants everyone focussed on the mission in hand.

The butterfly creatures are on a rampage.

The episode works better as it tones down the repetitive infantile humour. It also nicely sets things up for the finale.
