Caught Me at the End
Hitchcoc15 April 2021
After watching half of this episode, I had decided this would be my last look at it. The people Eliot works with are rehashed people. Once again we have a computer whiz who looks to be about 16 years old with some red makeup around her eyes. She rambles on in all that tech talk and is frustrated when people don't know what she is talking about. Then we have the slovenly guy who would rather sleep than do anything, but when the chips are down, he'll be there. Then it's Eliot and his explosiveness. He has no off switch when it would benefit him. But the case got more interesting as it concluded.

Warning: Spoilers
A funny moment with the beatdown at the end, but the show is coming off a little bit too cartoonish. I just don't think there are mobs like this in New York.

This Is Not How Professionals Do This

Warning: Spoilers
Did Stabler's chief actually agree to withhold details and tamper with evidence in order to help prosecute Wheatley's case??

If this ever came out, the whole decades-long investigation would get thrown out and she would probably lose her job.. or worse.

She would go down. Stabler would go down. And Olivia already suspects that Stabler is hiding information.

Good Because of Stabler . . . but Asian Americans Still Need Not Apply
bkkaz9 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What is it about the Law and Order franchise and its refusal to hire Asian American actors? Of all the series that have made it past one season, only one -- one -- has had a semi-regular Asian American character, and that was SVU. But B. D. Wong left the franchise more than a decade ago. Organized Crime has the potential to be a 21st century show, but it's holding to the notion that only some minorities are welcome in the cast.

So far, the series plays like Law and Order: Criminal Intent, which wafted between the good guys and the bad guys, combined with the old series Wise Guy, but just not as good. It's also shaping up to be a harder-edged copy of CSI, NCIS, The Equalizer (new one), etc., with the usual stock characters: tough boss, sassy computer nerd, harmless techie guy, macho hero, etc.

This episode concerns stealing some COVID vaccine, which is actually kind of funny now, not because of the crime but because it appears we have enough to vaccinate everyone and may even have a surplus. Guess the script was written a while ago. Anyway, the villain, the guy from that old lawyer show, is a slimy scumbag that women throw themselves at and won't be caught for quite a while. Look for a surprise guest appearance by a Benson, 'cause now that Stabler's wife is out of the picture, you can see where the writers are going.

Warning: Spoilers
I like the title for this episode. But in terms of drama, this one felt a bit flat compared to the previous episode.

I think a mistake they made was killing off Chazz Palminteri's character Manfredi Sinatra too quickly. We should have gotten to know that guy better, to see why people were so dazzled and so threatened by him. Also to see how his grandson had a sort of emotional bond with him, before Fredi was history.

I would have had Fredi's son Richard (Dylan McDemott) decide to get rid of the old dinosaur in episode one, to plot his demise. Then kill him halfway through episode two. It would have made this installment more interesting.

In fact, I would have had the murder occur at the same time the party is going on, where Richard's daughter Dana and son Richie debate what a racist their grandfather is...implying that old school racists won't survive in the modern woke age.
