I'm so glad this season is finally over! lol JOSEPHINE is the last in a string of bad episodes in the second half of Season 2. The first few episodes looked promising like this season was going to be as entertaining and captivating as Season 1, but in the end, nothing really happened in Season 2. Dorothy spent the whole season shouting at everyone like a lunatic and staring into space. Leanne was with the random Marino family that was meaningless to the narrative. Uncle George invaded the Turner home and rambled about for 3 episodes doing absolutely nothing. Julian did his eating/drinking/swearing/threatening schtick all of Season 2. By the way, writers, seriously, THANK YOU for not including Julian in this episode. I was tempted to give it an extra star just based on that alone. I actually did give this one an extra star, but based on Toby Kebbell's impassioned acting in the scene where Sean talked Dorothy off the ledge. That was literally the ONLY part of this episode that was any good. Otherwise, it was a rough 30 minutes. Aunt Josephine, another random wackjob, shows up to retrieve Leanne. Much like George, Josephine spends the episode spouting nonsense and ends up attacking Leanne, except she actually gets a few good shots unlike George who folded immediately. We find out the genesis of this cult that Leanne is a part of through the betamax tape that George brought a few episodes ago. The founder of the cult, which originated circa 1970, turns out to be some nebbishy, nerdy looking salesman guy who actually pitches self-sacrifice for some mystical greater good. Two seasons of mystery and it all came down to this? Also, for some inexplicable reason, Dorothy decides to save Leanne's life after she actually kidnapped her and tried to murder her a few episodes ago, while Leanne has a change of heart and decides Dorothy is not all bad. Leanne brings "Jericho" back and we are literally back to the drawing board in the Pilot episode. Finally, according to Leanne, a storm is coming to avenge the loss of Josephine. Thankfully, I won't be around to witness it. Done with this pretentious series.
