This was the best of the Isolation stories. It raised the underlying issues of some parents being denied access to see their children during lockdown.

Like Ron & Russell, it is a family affair. Actor Eddie Marsan appears with his children.

Marsan plays Stephen a single father with two kids over Easter. Everyday the children's granddad (David Threlfall) his father in law comes to mess around with kids in the front garden. He keeps his two metres distance and stays outside. The kids love to see him, he is an ex football referee.

Stephen is irritated to see him and is still sore with his wife Karen leaving him to go and shack up with a car salesman. He is denying Karen to come and see the kids.

Eventually Stephen has a emotional talk with his father in law over the failure of his marriage.

These drama work better because the phone or computer screen is featured less. Of course it is a great time for an actor's families. They get to appear onscreen or work behind the camera.

I wonder if David Threlfall lives near Eddie Marsan? Either that or Threlfall had an excuse that he was driving about to test his eyesight!

As the Lockdown in the UK still continues in a (prematurely?) relaxed form. I think ITV should do more Isolation stories. A story about care workers in lockdown in an old peoples home where death rates suddenly spike and there is a lack of protective equipment. They can also tackle more thornier political issues.

The reason I have written reviews of these sort of shows soon after broadcast as it allows me to give a contemporaneous opinion.

I am mindful as how we now have people who were not even alive during World War II, who have a rosy outlook about life during that era. Guff such as the Blitz spirit. I fear that some decades later people will see the pandemic in such a way. Especially the handling of it by the incompetent Tory government. For example, still yet to introduce quarantine measures for arrivals to the UK long after the horse has bolted from the stable.
