"Leave everything to me!'

Chick Chandler talks bowling-alley owner Tom Kennedy into raffling off girlfriend Jeanie Roberts' new auto to the first bowler who has a perfect game.

There are lots of amusing gags in here, but no characters I particularly care for. Chandler is obnoxious, Kennedy filled with malapropisms, and Miss Roberts so helium-voiced it's a wonder her empty head doesn't float away. Chandler and Kennedy made four shorts together, demonstrating the endless demand for bad movies.

Such a painful voice!

"Unlucky Strike" is a short comedy which has funny elements....but also many painfully stupid ones as well. And, worst of all, Jeanie Roberts plays one of the most annoying characters I've seen in years. Why? Because her voice could curdle milk...and is much like Helen Kane's or Betty Boop's...only worse.

Chick Chandler is a fast-talking hustler who seems to be able to convince dopey Tom Kennedy to do anything. So, when Chic has a scheme to cheat customers at Tom's bowling alley, Tom inexplicably goes along with it...but their first customer is a cop! What's next? See the film.

Among the many silly (and ridiculous) things in this film is a magnetic bowling ball and anarchists who substitute a bomb (which looks like a bowling ball) at the alley. Overall, while the film has a few laughs, it also is ludicrous even by comedy standards. Based on what I saw, I can see why the Chandler/Kennedy teaming never took off.
