Down & Dirty At The Dairy Farm

Warning: Spoilers
Boy, this wasn't an easy episode to watch. The first half wasn't too bad, and was filled with a lot of laughs thanks to host Mike Rowe, but the second half......yech! It's not always easy to see someone sticking their arms inside a cow's butt and having the latter crapping all over you. It's even worse seeing someone struggling to take out a stubborn calf from a mother cow, especially when they have to cut open the cow via a C-section. We see three different calves being "delivered" by Mr. Rowe. It's exhausting and not easy to watch.

If you're into cow poop, a diary farm must be Eden. There is so much of it produced by these animals (1,600 tons per day!) that the owner of this dairy farm in Indiana had three huge silos full of the you-know-what. To his credit, the stuff gets recycled for good use.....but man, who would want to work among those surroundings?? These animals are pooping all day, it seems.

Earlier, we see Mike learning how to use the milking machines and putting a blowtorch to the cows' udders!! No, it doesn't hurt them and is good in cleaning away bacteria and other unwanted materials. However, it's a little weird to see.

I lost count how many jokes Rowe said in here, some of them questionable in taste. However, when you are in the freezing cold and crap he was in, you can't blame him for getting a little off-color. I'll say this: the man has guts, and few things seem to shake him up.
