What? the first minute contradicts the main story

The story is ok, but how it started is absolutely the wrong way:

Spoiler:

the mail box is super full since ages, and the invitation to the party was still valid? what chance is there....

there could have been many other ways to start it that makes a bit more sense.

A satire

This is a clever satire about current society just as the original Simpsons were. It has good jokes, a unique structure; it doesn't feel like a redo of any older episode, and touching moments. And it manages to do all this without having modern technology visible all the time, just like the original Simpsons made fun of the TV spciety without showing TVs all the time. Some people will vote it down perhaps because they don't like horses or dislike the episode's musical style. But this episode should be looked up to.

Classic Simpsons

This episode had a lot of heart and a simple premise. Homer is funny without being overly wacky, and the sibling bond between Bart and Lisa is in full display and really adorable. The episode also features many guests stars but doesn't make a big spectacle of it. Overall, great episode.

This was an OK episode, there were definately some funny jokes in it though the actual "Hateful Eight-Year-Olds" didn't act at all like an eight year old. If I saw twelve-year-olds acting like that I'd be surprised.

I should also like to point out that in Season 11, Episode 13 titled "Saddlesore Galactica" Bart rides a gorse just fine with no fear. So throwing a fear of a horse in there (which is overcome in about one minute) does feel rather strange. I see what they were going for as they discussed how he thought Horse's were stupid at the beginning but given he has ridden a horse in multiple previous episodes it doesn't make much sense now.

If IMDb offered .5 ratings I would give this episode a 6.5. It was OK better than others but by no means "classic Simpsons".
