So, I really love this TV show.
It has very good character development and for some of them their psychology is very flashed out and handled. The dialogues are also very good and humor is top notch.
But my only problem here is that it lacks logic in some action sequences, wich is fine I guess but it can ruin the experience to someone who pays attention to details.
Example: Homelander has x-ray sight, why didn't he uses it when he was searching for the boys? I mean, for him finding them would have been very easy. Why did they let kimiko go away like it's nothing? They had here right there, but they kinda just forgot about her, stormfront didn't even tell anyone about her.
So overall very good episode, but I hope they'll put more attention to this stuff.

...between a sociopath and a psychopath. Homelander is a sociopath; he doesn't feel any sympathy for those he kills or harms. He genuinely sees "non-supes" as inferiors, and has no regard for humanity whatsoever. Textbook sociopathy.
Stormfront, on the other hand, is a psychopath. She enjoys killing. She delights in causing harm. Psychopaths live to kill, they have a taste for it. Sociopaths feel nothing of the pain they cause; psychopaths feel the pain and are glad of it.
This is riveting television. The scene with the whale, which others found hysterical, I thought was heartbreaking. It shows that Butcher, too, is a bit of a sociopath.

Possible. It's incredible. And also, great idea by Amazon to keep us waiting. That will get more people talking. It also will give us fans more time to digest the different storylines. I know binge watching is the new normal, but having some time in between episodes also makes me appreciate them more. Can't wait for the rest of the season.

Really crazy stuff. Stormfront is TERRIFYING... like, for real. The word is finally out about Vought and we get some great character moments from pretty much the whole cast as well as some insane action to balance it all out. Probably my favourite episode at the moment. A decent 9/10
That's how it starts. The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men... cruel.

This show does the feeling of hopelessness better Injustice and Batman vs Superman.
Every time the protagonist team scores one goal, the antagonist team comes back with another to even the level. But the field is different now we have multiple groups all with their own agendas.
Best superhero shows right now, hands down.

After the incredible first season, I thought that maybe the pace of this season would slow down, but those first three episodes came to show that I'm really wrong. The story is very interesting, it's funny, dark and full of action.
The best episode so far...

It's just the third one but much better than most of the over-rated superhero series finales.... Story line and characters both are intense and gripping... Bill Butcher is the real SUPE.. Can't wait for next episode.
I'm enjoying the show so far, but...

...what is up with Homelander? The writers seem to have toned down his super powers or are ignoring his abilities.
In the tunnels Homelander should've noticed that A-Train has heart issues due to his improved hearing. The same goes when he's ambushed by Butcher. He should've known already that they are there. He should've also been able to hear what Starlight and Maeves were talking about on the phone.
Why am I thinking this? Because in season one Homelander was able to find people simply because he could hear them from far distances. He could even hear their breathing and heartbeat. So why is this apparently ignored here? I'm worried that Homelander as a character is being pushed to the side and probably killed off towards the end of the season in a way that should be impossible due to his abilities and the writers could intentionally ignore what was established in season 1 just to make it work for their story. So, I'm still hopeful but worried at the same time.
I also think that Stormfront as a character is a missed opportunity. I liked her character a lot in the first two episodes with the whole "I don't give a **** about the corporate politics" attitude and I especially liked what she said during the interviews. That they are turning her into a psychopath is not good and I think it reflects current Hollywood again where they consider anyone that disagrees with them as evil psychopaths. It's like "see the people who say that it only matters what you can do and will do and who will ignore your gender and/or identity? They are all out to hurt you"
I still enjoy the action and various character interactions. But I'm really worried about where the story is going now.

The ridiculous Billy Joel song droning on and on. The horrible pacing. The ending w/ The Boys escaping when the all powerful 7 were right behind them including 2 faster than bullet heroes (A-Train, Homelander) & an ultra-tracking Black Noir... all add up to a horribly directed episode that is as bad as anything on the CW or that Snyder could have come up with.
First season pacing was great, stories weren't bloated or head-shakingly ridiculous. So far, Season 2 is bad, full of the arrogance that since Season 3 is already greenlit that they have to drag things on and stall to fill episodes.
Really disappointing, predictable and with extremely poor direction!

This episode, for sure, is one of the best in this season so far, if not the whole series. It's well paced and written and most of all it's entertaining.
The compound v secret it's finally out and vought is going down. Meanwhile Homelander realized he sucks at parenting. The boys are to delivery 'the supe terrorist' but things went sideways. The scene with the whale was epic but disturbing. And we finally get to see stormfront's true nature, she's relentless and dangerous. Homelander might have a new competition.

Best episode of the three. The construction of the new "hero" promises a lot and this episode reminded us that nothing is black or white in "The boys". In my opinion it is the best series of the moment and I hope it continues like this, not caring about the "political correctness" at the time of writing the characters.
Wow....

But Stormfront... SHE DID IT! What an absolutely DISGUSTING human being! I'm not sure I can swear here but if I could I would! I thought we were gonna see our little Jedi/Daniel from LIS 2 superhero for many more episodes, especially with how powerful he was and what he did to Homelander, but nope, not anymore...
(And telekinesis is the coolest power in the show so far, but RIP)
Anyways, loved the episode :)
Best by far..

That was epic, I've never been satisfied in watching a series like that. THE BOYS ARE BACK together and that what i wanted to see. Stormfront is Epic she did everything she has to do perfectly, although I hate her now more than homelander, will the seven go against each other? Will DEEP changes sides?
After being so close to be next to his wife, Butcher came back for his Boy is everything i wanted to see, at this moment I nearly cried.
Homelander son's finally showed his power, I was like WOW this is going to be good.
What makes this series great in addition to the storytelling is the Art direction, the art direction of this series is great, just go back to DEEP moment with Eagle and see the sign behind him.
I hope this series forward the same way it started.
Holy Hell

Man stuff really picking up and this is only the 3rd episode. This is probably my favorite out of the three that were released for a few reasons. One the tension is higher then ever before and that makes for some great stuff on both sides. Two the action was insane and a I swear to god this is one of the most violent shows I've ever seen. And three we get to learn a lot more about some characters including Stormfront who is just as bad as Homelander if not worse and Kimiko and her brother, who sadly dies at the end protecting her. Also Hughie is just going through all right now I can't help but feel bad go the guy. Butcher is as great as ever with the whale ramming probably being the most badass thing he's ever done besides stare down homelander. Homelander is also really great and he's probably lost the little bond he's had with his son so that sucks.
Overall these first 3 episodes have been a really great setup for what is to come and I can't wait for the rest of the season. And this is portably my favorite episode of the show up to this point (also we need more Black Noir)
Final rating: 9.7/10

I am writing this review to try and get it back up to a 9.5.
Going into this episode i was slightly anxious as i don't do super well with intense media, but was blown away and thrilled by this episode. Every second is perfectly paced with great payoff of everything a built up over the course of this premiere.
Not only is the story on point, the action setpieces are amazing and the acting is perfect. This episode goes above and beyond my expectations and I am thoroughly looking forward to the rest of the season. Stormfront has an insane moment at the end which teases her to be quite the villain, and the whale scene with the deep was comedy gold. Overall this is definitely the best episode of the show so far and if you still haven't watched it what are you doing, watch it now.

Diminishing returns
MisterKino7 September 2020
There's a few solid moments in this episode but not much else. Aside from that a pretty mediocre episode for what is shaping up to be a pretty mediocre season. Gone is the humor and wit from the previous season and in place of that are more dramatic moments from side characters you couldn't care less about. They only have 8 episodes for this season. Why are we wasting time on all this unnecessary filler? Show can do better than this. This isn't the CW.
Hopefully they'll pick up the slack in the upcoming episodes.

Not here to complain about staggered release... i'm a big boy i can handle it. i'm here to complain about the lack of quality writing and terrible promo building up to second season 2. so far the trailers have practically summarized or should say spoiled everything in season 2 episode 1-3, not that there was any good content to spoil. NOTHING has happened in 3 hours of this show for season2.
for a bit of back story i'm a fan of all things non-superhero related. i fin hate marvel and dc and all the bs associated with those series, and how every actor has sold their souls to be in them, i have watched most dc and marvel because my child is into some of that. but watching boys was so absolutely refreshing and realistic, if i can say that, if we were truly to have heros/anti. the first season has been edge of seat pure entertainment. don't know what's happened with second, writing is awful, no action, and whatever little content there was spoiled by trailers. hate myself for wasting the time to talk to the internet about it. just awful. hopefully they will pick it up for remainder of season
