Enjoyable, charming little piece

Warning: Spoilers
I got this cute puppet (stop-motion) animation short as extra on the Super-Illu magazine DVD of Jan. 2009, and must say I enjoyed it more than the "main feature" (Schneewittchen, 1961).

With a cast of two "humans" (the gentle fisherman and his ever demanding wife) and two "animals" (the magic, talking, wish-granting fish, and the dog), the Grimm fairy-tale is decently presented in just 13 minutes, and filled with funny little details (the dog's urination, the doorbell / door-opener sequence...) Made in socialist East Germany, the climax is changed from the original wish where the wife wanted to be God (if I remember correctly) to her wishing to have the magic fish at home, for easier wishing. And instead of getting terribly mad, the fish just agrees and raises a tsunami which turns their castle back to the old shack from the beginning. Close, but somehow implausible.

I had fun watching this, from the North German accent of the fisherman to the little details as said. More than from Schneewittchen :)
