This Big Spender Only Used The Finest Of Knives

Warning: Spoilers
This area "is known for its mansions, not its mobsters," City Confidential informs us, right off the bat. About a half hour from the hustle-and-bustle of New York City, people come here to get away from it all and remain anonymous. This isn't a tight-knit small community where people all know each other, but people aren't unfriendly, either. They just want to enjoy a quiet time in a nice big house. On Easter Sunday of 1996, however, it was discovered one family had not lived a quiet, serene life inside their residence.....and it all went to pieces that morning when the husband was found chopped up into 66 pieces! A cop was just cruising around the neighborhood when he noticed a man dumping something into the river bank at nearby East Rutherford, N.J. If you know that name, it's probably because that is where the New York Giants and New York Jets play football. Anyway, the policeman had a gut feeling something was wrong. He was 100 percent right. To his shock and horror, he discovered the garbage bags in the man's car held body parts. The cop called for backup - plenty of it.

The man caught with the body parts was so terrified he was shaking all over and was a basket-case. He spoke some sort of dialect. It turned out to be Russian. Was this grisly murder part of the Russian mob? No, it wasn't. It led to a professional, executive woman in Upper Saddle River, and the body turned out to be her husband's. Her friend - a relative - had helped her chop up the body and put it in the garbage bags. She used the best knives you could buy, naturally, and they were one of her favorite items in the house.

The history of this very intelligent and educated couple, Yakob and Rita Gluzman, is one of Jews escaping Russia for sanctuary, and winding up with good jobs in the United States. While Yakob was content with his job and a low-profile which included an inexpensive life, his wife quickly turned into someone who embraced capitalism to the nth degree, spending like she was married to Donald Trump and living as high a material life as she could. This led to problems....with a brutal ending.

You can watch and learn all the sordid, bloody details on the show, a pretty good episode of a good marriage that went horribly bad. You can also hear at minimum 12 jokes and more puns concerning the crime. Yes, the writers of this show have a dark sense of humor!
