challenging animation
Mozjoukine9 August 2020
"Six moments in the future," bird head mother & child in clothes sing to empty cages , more bird men in a bedding show room, a mole and a snail record, a caterpillar and a mouse are at a night time petrol station and singing insects join in with one already fallen. Surreal modern images take up the child song. Haunting.

Superior craft skills. To ask what it means would be impudent.

Yes but...

At first this is a wonderfully quirky and interesting animation. But then it never changes - no arc, no emotion, no nothing. Soon the cuteness turns thin, and even though it is a short film, seems far too long by the bitter end.

Well crafted but ultimately empty

This is a short puppet stop motion animation. Different animal characters are seen singing a (real or invented?) dark nursery rhyme. The animal puppets are impressive but the scenes follow each other without any visible meaning to the sequence.

So while visually interesting, it feels like a missed opportunity to come up with something more meaningful and memorable.
