The sole existence of this episode seems to promote the synergy of Fox and Disney, and definitely doesn't go as far as it could have to criticise it's parent company. Still, it's a funny, entertaining enough critique of fandoms and spoiler culture, though this too could have been expanded upon greatly. The Aussie who plays the Hawkeye knockoff is horrible, and is by far the most dated bit of the episode. Even the launching point for Bart discovering the plot of Vindicators 4, used through a YouTube blogger parody and a small joke with "Skinner's Screen Saver", is handled without too much heavy-handedness or poor internet lingo. Still, it's a pretty good episode, but could've been better.

Was a good episode but poor execution on "Australian accent"

While the premise of the episode was good and follows typical Simpsons antics.
The "Australian accent" was well and truly over done. (Note, we don't actually sound like that).
With the budgets and simple technologies in this day and age it would have been extremely simple to have I dunno...an actual Australian do the voice? Plenty of actors already in Hollywood or the recording could have been done in a studio here and emailed to the editing room..

A good and entertaining way to present the power and the consequences of spoilers!

Warning: Spoilers
This is not the same Vindicators team from Rick and Morty, obviously. Almost a year after Vindicators: Infinity War, Milhouse is inexplicably taken away from his room in the hospital when Glen Tangler comes to visit him. Glen passes out and Bart can watch all of Endgame on his laptop. Bart can threaten to spoil Vindicators: Endgame for everyone and gain anything from it. Homer can't be spoiled because he already knows the good guys will win in the second part, and Bart shares his spoiler gift with Homer and Lisa. Before Endgame comes out and Bart's power is gone, he gets everyone to make him a treehouse in Springfield's 200 year-old tree, but then (gasps) Anthony and Joe Russo take Bart to a virtual reality to avoid having him ruin their movie sales! They have to make back 55% of their budget by the second weekend. Spoilers have consequences not just in film sales, but in this virtual reality as well. Bart spoiling the future of the heroes gave the villains knowledge they needed to stop them. Chinos, voiced by the brilliant Kevin Feige, will give Bart superpowers if he spoils Endgame for him, but thankfully, the warnings of Hydrangea and Black Voodoo come through to Bart, and he turns into a good cactus who defeats Chinos and doesn't give away spoilers.
Very Much Enjoyed This Episode

I've been a fan of the Simpsons for a long time and I'll admit some of the newer episodes haven't been good to me but this one was just genius AND it was a Marvel parody episode with actors from Marvel crew and cast! I do enjoy Homer and Bart episodes and this was one of my favourites of the newer episodes
Great parody

Terrible episode.

So the premise of the episode is set around a really lame Avengers parody. I already hated it within the first 20 seconds. But yes, it goes on for 22 damn minutes.
It is an incredibly lame plot and not a single joke is funny. I felt like Homer at 1 minute 40 seconds (spoiler alert - he's sleeping).
Yet more evidence that The Simpsons does not do good social commentary. "Hello fellow kids on the internet, this is what you like isn't it? Please watch our episodes, we need more money!"
Glen's character does the worst Australian accent I've ever heard. I thought The Simpsons were done using stereotypes, after retiring Apu. This does not look good, just more embarrassment... "Koo-ka-berra"...? Jesus that's bad.
Rick And Morty already did The Vindicators, and it was a million times better.

'Bart the Bad Guy' is, thankfully, not a total creative disaster. It presents some interesting ideas and a welcome touch of classic Simpsons satire and parody with decent comic results. Its main strength is its perceptive and fun portrayal of the culture of spoilers. I liked the metaphor of 'having super-powers'. However, very unfortunately, the episode fails to expand its truly profound ideas and, consequently, it lacks the force it could have had. I am thinking, for example, about the ending, which left me with mixed feelings. The characters feel less authentic and, unlike many other Simpsons episodes, the dialogue and the gags are not particularly memorable. For these reasons, the episode leaves no lasting impression on the viewer and its focus remains quite superficial and shallow. In short, although it could have been worse, 'Bart the Bad Guy' does not live up to the high standards set by the Golden Age of this beloved show.

Really - another pathetic attempt at an Australian accent?

Hank Azaria has said he was through with voicing Apu, yet the so-called "Australian accent" of 'Airshot' (done by an American) is so poor it transcends parody and is just plain bad ( you can't do Australian accents, get it in your head! The only non-Australian that can is, ironically, Tracey Ullman). Nobody speaks like Apu in real life, just like no-one in Australia speaks like Airshot. As usual, the overly-sharp graphics, colour-muted palette and boring storyline make it hard to watch. Don't tell me it's going to be like this forever.
Absolutely horrible Australian accent.

Is it really that hard to find an Aussie to do voice work? I don't think The Simpsons has ever hired anyone to play an Aussie that wasn't terrible at it. Just because you get some idiot to name some of our wildlife in their sentences, it doesn't mean that makes them sound more Australian. Seriously!
