Mediocre, but it's a start!

Warning: Spoilers
ABS-CBN should have sticked more to the watt pad story and added a little bit of background music to scenes that were mostly quiet, but other than that I have to say that ABS CBN did a really good job of adjusting to the Gen Z norm!!!

You'll definitely fall in love with this series!

First of all, before watching you should be informed first that the series is just an adaptation to the book in wattapad. So expect that the storyline is different from the book, if you're a fan from the book in wattpad its clearly not its resemblance just an adaptation to the characters.

Overall, the series is not your ordinary Filipino film. The story is full of plot twist that will leave you hanging & amazed. I could say its one of a kind and from watching it to iwant-youtube-netflix I can still feel the emotions I felt when I first watched it. Its a never ending mixed of emotions that will give you a heartfelt feelings.

In addition, I think Belle Mariano (Maxpein) really nailed it. She carried the show from the beginning till the end with her acting, I would say my favorite part would be episode 3 when her eyes speaks a million of emotions when she carried her scene that touches the heart of many. I also think that the author made a really good plot twist at the end, its your no ordinary filipino film more of an adaptation of kdramas' storyline.

It's really far from the original story/characterz
cskyie30 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The cinematography is superb. The visuals of the actors are superb. The shooting locations are superb. The lightnings are superb as well! However, as an original reader of this story in Wattpad, I could say that they only got the names of the characters and places, but almost all of the character traits of the OG cast changed A LOT. For me, it was only Criza as Naih who acted out her character really well. The rest, changed-- turned upside down. Also, only few of the scenes in Wattpad got acted out. All in all, personally, the series is kinda cringe. Nonetheless, I'm not invalidating the actors and actresses' hardwork, I know they were only following what the director's plot is.

An honest review
arkywrites6 October 2021
The plot of the movie is far from the book but the artists who portray the characters gave justice to the story. The cinematography is also world class and it's one of the best Filipino series that i've watched so far. Kudos to the whole HIH team! Donbelle's (main characters) chemistry is also out of this world. I can't wait for season 2.

Shallow plot... Disappointing.
deacorpuz4 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There's a bunch of high school dramas out there. And this show feels like a complications of all those dramas. It turned out to be cliché, a bunch of expected plots. At least make some difference if it is meant to stand out among this kind of trope.

The biggest problem of this show is it failed to continue the stakes it had been building up since the first episode. It feels incomplete and at some point in the show, the writers just decided to throw everything and made a complete different storyline.

Maxpein and Deib are cute couple. Maxpein's Dad gave a wonderful wisdom, but that's it. This show feels like everyone around them are just displays. Displays that move whenever the writers just wants them to. Their friends have no depth. For example, Maxpein's friends kept teasing her for the guy that bullied her? They are romanticizing it because the guy is good looking? This show is for the youth and this is what you teach them?

Back to the "friends", they are just there for Max and Deib's romance to move forward. Nothing else. And it is not surprising that their friends will also end up together with each other. And please can they stop showing random moments that doesn't even make sense? Lee and Naih looks at each other, Tob and Michiko looks at each other, a little bit of slow-mo just to divert us from the main plot for a second. The shows expect people to care about this people around the main leads but don't give them time to actually be built up to realistic teenagers.

It is also so disappointing building up the "Alpha 3" in the beginning then viewers were not shown how they are the "Alpha 3" aside from their introduction. It shows that Deib is the only Alpha, and the other 2 were just there. I don't even understand why they are friends and why should I care about their friendships.

Most of the actings were great. But the story? Shallow plot... Disappointing.

Max needs some less toxic friends
evangelynbeltran9 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Belle Mariano is AMAZING in this- she's such a good actor. Her character Max deserves SO MUCH BETTER.

Her so-called "friends", though they call themselves a family and claim to always protect each other, cower and flee the minute a chance arises to actually protect Max, because her bully is this popular, cute boy. So they're massive hypocrites. Not only do they not speak up for her, they don't tell a teacher what's happening. As friends, they suck.

The WORST of them is Naih, the most toxic friend I've ever seen. Maybe she's different in the books, but in the show, she's the absolute worst. She abandons Max in the halls when that's the bullies' place to corner her, is a huge pick-me for these boys that pick on her because ~her crush is one of them~, and ALL she cares about is pressuring Max to forgive this guy so she can be friends with his group and get near her crush. So selfish and insensitive. It doesn't matter how much of a "hopeless romantic" she is- it is completely inappropriate of her to make Max's suffering about herself, gloss over Max's hurt and brush it off as "romantic", and care only about how this affects her own romantic life.

The whole school is a bunch of pick-me's and display disgusting, cringe behavior for these boys. Lorde in particular's dialogue makes me so embarrassed for him. No high school boy, no matter how much of a simp he is, would say what he says. Ysay could have been portrayed as a socially awkward nerd without her doing something that no person with a working brain would think to do. Elle, the evil stepsister character, could have gotten more scenes with the parents being mad at her so that her dislike of Max could seem unwarranted because it seems unearned.

There are scenes that are done well. For example, I really liked the dream sequence where the main couple is on the basketball court.

With this show, there are some characters that are horrible but still well-written (Deib), and characters that are "good" but terribly written so their actions are despicable and/or annoyingly out of touch (Naih, the other two fake friends, Ysay) , and some are both (Lorde).

Belle Mariano's Acting Skill is SUPERB
ymmijlape25 August 2022
I recently watched this series on iWant TFC. I'm not a fan of Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan, but their acting skill in this series was incredible. They portray their role beautifully and that what makes this series beautiful.

The series is a bit disappointing
limnami-3060012 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If you like Miss @maxinejiji's book He's Into Her, you'll be disappointed because the series is very different from the book. The performances are fantastic, but the way the narrative was changed is extremely sad.
