Exclusive: Emmy winner Kim Delaney has been tapped to star in Lifetime original movie The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice, the network’s latest addition to its winter “Ripped from the Headlines” slate.
The movie is inspired by the emotional story of Mari Gilbert, played by Delaney, a mother whose daughter’s disappearance led to the discovery of 19 bodies, many of which are believed to have been murdered by an unidentified Long Island serial killer. The film follows her relentless pursuit for answers and the truth. Emmy-winning journalist Deborah Norville, who covered Gilbert’s story as anchor for Inside Edition, will executive produce. The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice is scheduled to premiere winter 2021 on Lifetime.
“Mari Gilbert singlehandedly brought closure to families who never knew what happened to their missing sisters and daughters,” said Norville. “To law enforcement, she was ‘just a mom,...

If you're ever itching to watch a true crime movie, you know that Lifetime has some of the best. They've focused on plenty of big stories, like those of Casey Anthony, Natalee Holloway, and Erik and Lyle Menendez. But they've also made movies based on crimes you may have never even heard of that are just as eerie and awful as the ones that captured headlines for years. What's even creepier than watching a movie about a famous serial killer, like The Capture of the Green River Killer, is discovering the movie you just watched is based on a real-life murder that seems too crazy to be true. Yep, some of your favorite Lifetime movies are based on real murders and kidnappings that will seriously haunt you. Because the idea that someone like the assailant from The Girl in the Box could really exist is so much more frightening than...

Ah, to be a serial killer on the prowl. Good times. Unfortunately, if Criminal Minds has taught us anything, it's that serial killers usually get caught. Especially if Mandy Patinkin is consulted. Lifetime's original miniseries The Capture of the Green River Killer is a 3-hour retelling of the true-story of the titular serial killer's streak of terror in Washington state. The Capture of the Green River Killer stars Tom Cavanagh, Currie Graham, and Amy Davidson and landed on DVD on March 29th from New Video. We've got one copy to give away to a lucky reader. To find out how you can win, just keep reading.
Here's the synopsis:
Told through the eyes of a young runaway, the Lifetime Movie Network miniseries The Capture Of The Green River Killer details how fate, bad luck and unwise choices led to Helen “Hel” Remus’ (Amy Davidson, 8 Simple Rules) encounter with the notorious serial killer.

"Lifetime... television for idiots." - Family Guy
Not quite. While my experiences with the Lifetime channel have been limited, what few products did cross my way were definitely low-grade dramas that failed to impress time and time again. Yes, Lifetime does cater unabashedly to a specific [read: female] audience but with The Capture Of The Green River Killer “original miniseries”, the network takes slow, limp but occasionally confident steps in the right direction. Unfortunately for director Norma Bailey and screenwriter John Pielmeier, whatever tension is injected occasionally into the framework is deflated by the gargantuan and wholly unnecessary running time. At 180 minutes, Green River Killer begs the question of “why?”
A serial killer haunts Seattle – and one man finds himself inextricably drawn into the case, unable to stop crusading for the killer’s identity while hunting for a faceless evil. He gets calls at home, fears for his family’s safety and...

Executive producer Stanley M. Brooks of Once Upon a Time Films did not attend an AFTRA arbitration hearing Tuesday concerning more than $1 million owed from a 2008 Logo TV series but was represented by an attorney who acknowledged that there were unpaid residual payments, according to Del Shores, who was creator and director of the show in question, "Sordid Lives: The Series."
"I went to the AFTRA arbitration today to be a witness for AFTRA," Shores said in a statement to THR after the hearing. "I was not called upon to testify. My understanding is that Stan Brooks and Once Upon a Time Films agreed that they owed the actors of 'Sordid Lives: The Series' somewhere around $1.1 million in unpaid residuals and requested to meet with all three guilds involved -- WGA, DGA and AFTRA -- to try to come to a settlement for the artists owed, including myself.

Judy Reyes, Ana Ortiz and A Martinez have signed to star in the telefilm "Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story," which will air on Lifetime Movie Network this year.
"Lost" is based on the true story of Luz Cuevas (Reyes), who believed that her infant daughter, Delimar, had perished in a fire in their Philadelphia apartment. But six years later, Luz spots a little girl at a birthday party who she knows in her heart is her daughter and sets out to prove it.
Ortiz will play Valerie Valleja, a distant relative of Luz. Martinez is set to play Angel Cruz, a councilman who helps Luz.
"Lost" is said to be a high-priority project for LMN, which is planning to air it as an "event movie." It comes on the heels of "The Capture of the Green River Killer," LMN's first original miniseries and its highest-rated project ever.
"Lost", being produced by Lifetime Network in association with TF1, will be directed and executive produced by Paul Kaufman.
