Although, I don't believe it's that common in cars, but is used in many other devices, such as cigarette charger type items, my telescope's heating element....
It just points to why this show just doesn't have what it takes to be a good Sci-fi show... Lack of creativity in coming up with devices that could pass as coming from the year in which the show is trying to pass off as....and as others have stated, using a Bulgarian (I think that's what I saw) language as an Alien language, poor future prop design, such as this fuse for example....does anyone involved with the production of this show have ANY creative thoughts whatsoever to producing a proper sci-fi television show? If Gene Roddenberry was as "creative" as the folks on this show, no-one would have ever known what Star Trek ever was....we never would've had all the movies and spin off series.....and don't even talk to me about the crappy acting.... I've tried to give this show as many opportunities as I could to see if it would succeed, making it as far as this episode, but I highly doubt they'll get a second season! If they do, then I'll be extremely ticked off, as SyFy cancelled a great show in Dark Matter....and continues with this garbage??? But....I really doubt season 2 is coming....Lol...
