You loved The Conjuring so here comes Annabelle, another horror movie ripped from the case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. You might well remember, Annabelle was the name of a cursed doll who factored into the third act of last summer's horror blockbuster. Now, she's got a movie all her own, and you can get a pretty good look at her and the demon attached to her in the trailer above. Penned by Bloodmonkey and Swamp Devil scribe Gary Dauberman, Annabelle centers on a young family whose lives take a terrible turn when an eerie home invader terrorizes them, and then bleeds to death on the creepy doll they've voluntarily brought into their home. From there, they can't escape this undead visitor who seems hell-bent on their annihilation. Annabelle Wallis stars as Mia, who is pregnant with her first child. Ward Horton plays husband John, while Eric...

Earlier this year we told you that Anabelle, the creepy doll from The Conjuring, would be getting its own spin off movie. Today we are getting a good look at what that movie will be with the release of this first trailer.
Annabelle will be getting a full theatrical release this October 3, 2014. The film stars Annabelle Wallis (The Tudors) and Ward Horton (Days of Our Lives, The Wolf of Wall Street). John Leonetti, who was the cinematographer on The Conjuring will direct Annabelle based off a script from Gary Dauberman (Bloodmonkey, Swamp Devil). There is no official synopsis yet.
Want to see what the real Annabelle doll that inspired the movie looks like? We've got that for you here.

The Conjuring was well received when it hit theaters last year, so much so that a sequel is in production now, but their was one element of the film that seemed to resonate the most with viewers, the Annabelle Doll. Earlier this year we told you that the creepy doll would be getting its own spin off movie, and now we can confirm when you will see it.

When you think of The Conjuring, James Wan's horror hit from last summer, most people probably think of the Annabelle doll, a terrifying doll who haunts a pair of young women. The funny thing is that the film wasn't really focused on Annabelle; she was just kind of an introduction into the weird lives of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. But Annabelle has proven herself to be beloved - and now she is getting her own movie.
Details on the script are under wraps for now, but the two lead actors have just been cast: Annabelle Wallis (The Tudors) and Ward Horton (Days of Our Lives, The Wolf of Wall Street). John Leonetti, who was the cinematographer on The Conjuring will direct Annabelle based off a script from Gary Dauberman (Bloodmonkey, Swamp Devil). Shooting is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles at the end of the month.

Before CBS Films begins production on Hellfest, it is calling on one more writer for a bit of script work.
Gary Dauberman has been brought in to polish the screenplay. His credits include the creature features Swamp Devil and BloodMonkey - hey, the man's got to eat - but he's been called in on various studio projects to tinker with scripts for Final Destination 5, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Ghost House's Burst.

Before Rhi Entertainment decided that the opening scene of every movie had to show the monster in all its badly-rendered CGI glory; before the studio decided that gore shots were the only thing anybody cared about; before the company gave up trying to make interesting movies, there was Blood Monkey.Mind you, Blood Monkey is not good. But Blood Monkey tries so hard that I can't help but admire its moxie. Blood Monkey begins with the usual monster attack scene, but it doesn't show the monkey. Which is actually a gorilla. Scratch that, according to Professor Hamilton ...

Variety reports that Neil Marshall (pictured) will direct the latest in a string of 3-D horror projects to be announced in recent weeks. He’ll helm Burst 3D for Ghost House Pictures producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, with Lionsgate (which released Marshall’s The Descent) handling worldwide distribution.
Written by Gary Dauberman (whose previous credits include the Syfy flicks Swamp Devil, Blood Monkey and In The Spider’S Web), Burst centers on a group of travelers stranded by a blizzard who are stalked by an evil entity that causes them to spontaneously combust. Marshall recently wrapped the medieval actioner Centurion; Lionsgate, which had the first of this year’s 3-D horror hits with My Bloody Valentine, is currently in talks to team up with Saw creators Twisted Pictures to relaunch Texas Chainsaw Massacre with a dimensional entry as well.

Neil Marshall and Sam Raimi are coming together to throw a little 3-D spontaneous combustion our way. There’s no end of blogging about wrong-headed Oscar wins. The litany of complaints about “Shakespeare in Love” winning over “Saving Private Ryan,” or “Forrest Gump” over “Pulp Fiction,” or “The Greatest Show on Earth” over any of the other nominees that year, not to mention how Gwyneth Paltrow won over Cate Blanchett for “Shakespeare,” or Costner over Scorsese for “Dances with Wolves.”
Sometimes, though, the win is totally justified; it’s the body of work after the win that drags the winner down, and makes you wonder if maybe the Oscar win wasn’t just some sort of one-trick point, a gold-plated piece of lightning in a bottle. That’s why there’s no quibbling in this post about the quality of the performances, but rather about everything that came afterwards.
With the 2009 nominations coming out tomorrow, and with plenty of nitpicking sure to abound, I’m presenting seven...
