This documentary distributed by Arte TV focuses on the disappearing of the Vikings belief in gods and their transition to Christianity around year 1000. It is difficult to characterize it as a docu-drama, as there is no real plot, the story of the journey of a converted Viking from England to Denmark, Norway and back to his native Iceland is more a pretext to describe the different Viking kingdoms of the period and the causes and process of transition to Christianity. It is quite interesting for the history fans or for folks interested in Nordic mythology or history of religions, but not enough dramatic and lacking any spectacular revelations to make it of higher interest.
