"Beyond The Spectrum-Maussan's UFO Files" (2019): Is that Something?
jtncsmistad15 January 2021
Extended Air Force cockpit camera video footage captured by pilots on military maneuvers representing both the U.S. and Mexico recording inexplicable craft doing "unearthly" things. Several reports, including more videotape, of unidentified objects in motion spotted in the sky during a 1982 solar eclipse. Recent reports of infrared images allegedly unveiling UFOs "invisible" to the naked eye.

All this and more are part of the paranormal parade packed into the brief documentary "Beyond The Spectrum-Maussan's UFO Files".

Oh, and you best be braced to dig on veteran Mexican broadcast journalist turned UFO researcher Jaime Maussan.

El tipo habla mucho aquí.

A must-watch for any serious UFO fan

What I love about the Beyond the Spectrum series is that it presents the evidence and encourages you to think for yourself. The filmmakers have pulled another one off here by finding the amazing Jamie Maussan and his work in communicating the UFO phenomenon to the world. Fascinating, and a must-watch for any serious UFO fan.

Pretty boring but had one revealing video
cjgmusic31 January 2021
I almost quit watching halfway thru and decided the reviews merited perseverance. There was one revealing video clip toward the end worth the watch, but the rest was just not that interesting.

A chore to get through..
cjgmusic31 January 2021
There was a cool military video showing something interesting, that's about it. I wanted to turn it off 15 min in (of 45 min long), but read the reviews here and thought I was going to miss something. Nah, the one video was revealing but that's all there is to this.

Fascinating doc about Jaime Maussan
JGReviews12 June 2019
"Beyond the Spectrum -- Maussan's UFO Files" is the latest in director Darcy Weir's illuminating "Beyond the Spectrum" series. The documentary follows Jaime Maussan, a journalist who has covered many notable UFO events in Mexico's history, appearing on many high profile tv channels and programs. Maussan even created his own news agency that has over 2 million viewers a week from around the globe. I knew very little about Maussan before watching this film, but I learned a ton and I was intrigued the whole way through. I think this film would be very enjoyable for anyone interested in UFOs, particularly after major publications like the NY Times have been writing about UFOs in recent weeks and really shined a bigger spotlight on the subject. Check out "Beyond The Spectrum -- Maussan's UFO Files"! 9/10!

Fascinating!

I've always been skeptical of what is being fed to us by the mainstream media and especially skeptical of topics where people are called "crazy conspiracy theorists" for questioning the official narrative. Time and time again conspiracy theories have turned out to be true. In this documentary we get a fascinating perspective from a fascinating journalist named Jaime Maussan, who has bravely dedicated his life to the study of UFO's and his findings are pretty eye opening to say the least. Highly recommend this to anyone with an open mind.

Aliens Don't Just Visit The States

I love this stuff. Copious amounts of Cheetos, perhaps some adult beverages, and a night locked in with another offering from the Beyond The Spectrum series.

This one I hadn't hit yet, and I'm psyched I did. What you get with this stuff is thoughtful and often off-the-grid information, presented on an indie scale but with a keen observance for storytelling structure. No surprise, then, that we're given exactly that prescription here in an installment dealing with UFO sightings in Mexico.

This very well might be my favorite yet of this evolving series!

Mainstream Journalism meets Unidentified Flying Objects

Warning: Spoilers
People interested in UFO's and other unexplained phenomena will really enjoy this documentary. This film is not conspiracy theory driven, but rather driven by video evidence and the research of journalist Jaime Maussan. This is an argument for the existence of UFO's so folks looking for the counterpoint to this argument will need to find that on their own. Personally I like documentaries that do not get bogged down trying to give equal representation to "both sides" of the argument. This film merely presents it does not attempt to explain what the UFO's seen in the film are, or what their purpose is.

It was especially interesting to hear the testimonies from Mexican military personnel, and the tacit acceptance among military leaders that what they saw were in fact UFO's, even as high ranking as the Sec. of Defense of Mexico cooperated in Mr. Maussan's research. The analysis of infrared cameras vs regular cameras was also interesting and the expanding access to infrared technology is breeding a new generation of UFO hunters which is exciting.

All-in-all good food for thought and worth watching.

Interesting doc about UFO's and Mexico
turrou-66-9070482 July 2019
I'm not a huge UFO follower or anything, but I saw this and gave it a watch. It has some really interesting cases of military sightings of UFO's, and also follows a Mexican journalist who has focused a lot on UFO's. I liked learning about the journalist and Mexico's interest in UFO's as well. Fun watch.

Captivating Indie Documentary for all fans of UFOs
jblockbuster1 July 2019
I love UFO stories, and this documentary is super captivating. Do UFOs exist? Don't they exist? We don't know, but this film definitely puts some fuel on some discussions. We follow Jaime Maussan, a Mexican journalist, learning about him and the events he investigated. I'm curious to also check out the other films in the series!

Ultimately it's up to you to make up your mind. Interesting footage, well presented by director Darcy Weir. Definitely worth watching for any fan of the topic.

An In-Depth, Compelling and Serious Examination
emperorsnewmind17 June 2019
Beyond the Spectrum - Maussan's UFO Files is an in-depth, compelling and serious examination of the UFO phenomenon through the notable Mexican journalist Jaime Maussan. Mr. Maussan retraces the history of his career starting in the early 1980s with his animal rights and environmental activism through the show 60 Minutes (Mexico), which led to his partnership with NASA that took him to the North Pole on an investigation of the depletion of the ozone layer.

Starting in 1995 Jaime began his reporting on UFOs and wanted to change the way people think of them by applying the investigative methods he developed earlier with his reporting.

Directory Darcy Weir provides some fantastic and compelling video footage as evidence for their existence, which is often unseen by the public. In his thorough research, Darcy's film is on point with the current wave of reports that have dominated the news cycle from the New York Times to the Washington Post for 2019.

This film is a great continuation of the Beyond the Spectrum series. I look forward to seeing the next installments, with even more incredible footage, evidence, eye witness accounts and theories on the ever growing UFO phenomenon.

Mulder and Scully would approve!
JoshSegel9 July 2019
This riveting documentary tells the story of intrepid reporter Jamie Maussan, a Mexican journalist who has covered various UFO sightings in his country. This honorable guy has been dedicated to the study of UFOs for decades now, and what he's dug up over the years is fascinating. This extremely well researched and crafted film definitely piques your interest and makes you curious about what's out there. I think it would be very entertaining for anyone who has even the slightest interest in UFOs, but even if you're a skeptic, this is pretty engaging stuff.

Vindication!
ben-3633321 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
After decades of investigating UFO phenomenon, Mexican journalist Jaime Maussan is presented with very compelling evidence that his pursuits have been on the right course.

Covering Maussan's decades of journalistic endeavor's, Beyond the Spectrum paints a portrait of a man with integrity, conviction, and a hunger for the truth. As video technology has found itself in the hands of more and more people across the globe since the 1980's, evidence of UFOs have been piling sky high. More recently, however, such evidence has been coming from the Air Force pilots of governments across the globe--lending fantastic credibility to the stories that accompany said evidence.

Throughout this journey, Maussan has been sitting center stage, and this film tells the story of his career and passion up to the point where he is given a stamp of approval from the Mexican Secretary of Defense to disseminate and analyze infrared footage from a group of Mexican fighter pilots, thereby--on a major level--vindicating the work of his career.

I can't recommend Beyond the Spectrum highly enough. It's a fascinating story about a man that should be much more recognized in the United States and I look forward to seeing where his search goes from here.

A terrific film
craigahrens9 June 2019
First off, I need to say right out of the gate... I'm a big fan of Darcy Weir's filmmaking talent. I was looking particular forward to this film coming out given Jaime Maussan was being featured. I've been a long time of Jaime Maussan's work (if you aren't sure who he is, just Google his name). Well Darcy Weir not only delivered... he knocked the ball clean out of the park. This film is good for both the believer and non-beliver. Clearly a thumbs up from me.

An independent documentary with intriguing theories!
pj-woodside13 August 2019
I'm at heart a scientist and like to look at evidence from all sides, and that's what hooked me into this documentary about a UFO researcher in Mexico. It was interesting to learn about sightings in another country and follow the story of a dedicated journalist who can listen with an open mind and follow the story wherever it leads. There are some surprises here!

Awesome UFO documentary!
Amarino10014 August 2019
This is a really good UFO doc! I felt that Jamie Maussan was the perfect choice to host the film! He really feels genuine about the subject, shedding light on all of these strange ufo encounters outside of our country. The fact that they show footage from Mexico I find it very interesting. It seems much more legit then any of the footage on YouTube... Definitely recommend this film to anyone who is looking for some real ufo footage and in-site.

If you love docs and UFO'S, you'll love this!
SpankyWardOnAmazonPrime4 February 2020
I'm a sceptic who loves all things UFO. I don't know what it will take for me to believe (other than a personal experience) but I still love to devour all the info I can. There are some cheesy videos out there and there are great ones. THIS IS A GREAT ONE! I've never seen the footage shown in this documentary. Probably because it's from Mexico so it's not as prevalent as the US footage. If you're into UFO docs, there is some amazing new stuff in this you have to see! I hope more new stuff comes out soon!

Actual UFO footage
tan-4702631 July 2023
Unlike other documentaries that mostly use eye -witness accounts and recreations, here you actually see military footage of the ufos and other amateur footage as well.

This film takes a non-US centric approach to UFOs and how the subject matter is treated very differently in Mexico. The background of the award winning journalist is revealed in the first part of the film, then how he came into studying the subject matter and what he found.

There is in depth discussion on of the footage rather than just focusing on a story with little evidence - I dunno about you but I'm getting fed up with lots of claims/stories and little evidence to back them up.

Sad. Just very, very sad.

How on earth (pun intended) can there still be individuals creating such utter manure and gain any kind of success making money out of it?

Most of the population of the world of today benefitted reaching this low ground of a feat, is priviledged to live in a society enjoying a high level standard of education, medicine, science, social wellfare and moral aspects or at least have access to the knowledge or the channels thereto. Considering the former, how come this fringe field of force-fed ignorance, superstition, delusionality or narcissism is even an alternative to rational deduction to date?
