A Wonderful Journey
casanera200215 February 2022
I caught this documentary by chance on AMI. It's the story of a son taking his father back to the arctic circle where he had worked for the Hudson Bay Company in the early 1950's on the trading barges, dropping off supplies and picking up furs.. During his travels he photographed and filmed the people and communities along the trade route. On his return to the towns which he first visited he presented the photos and films to the communities and the reactions of the first nations people who saw for the first time images of themselves, as children and family members in their younger years, was heart warming. One thought I had while watching was I hoped that he left copies of films and photos with the people and communities.
