Sex & Nudity

  • No sex, although there is some making-out.
  • The extent of the sexual behavior is in a scene whereby teenagers kiss passionately in an alleyway. There is also a short scene in which two adults who are implicitly romantically involved chat intimately.
  • In an earlier scene, there is a shot of a temporarily-stranded, completely-naked, young teenage boy from his rear.
  • A small erotic poster of a naked or almost-naked woman from her rear can be seen affixed to a wall near where a young teenage boy changes his shirt.
  • A man commands a young teenager to strip naked, on account of the outcome of a wager, but it is not sexual.
  • Efraín's underwear and part of his bare legs, from the rear, can be briefly seen when Iván tugs at and swiftly pulls down Efraín's loose-fitting sports trousers.

Violence & Gore

  • No gore, although there is some blood and some bruising. The violence is very mild.
  • The most graphic scene is that of a young boy's bloodied and incapacitated body being briefly shown, right after he is stuck off-screen but audibly by an automobile. A small pool of blood is visible on the area of concrete where head rests.
  • A young boy uses a bottle to strike a teenage older boy in the head, breaking the bottle. A teenage boy punches a much younger teenage boy, knocking him down and out of frame, and he proceeds to repeatedly punch him.
  • There is some quasi-threatening use of a firearm. A young boy points pistol at a young man and is shortly disarmed by the man. A young man holds a young boy to the ground while pointing a pistol at the boy's head. The context is that of simulating out an armed robbery, knowingly practicing with an unloaded firearm.
  • A young teenage boy has a large but mildly-swollen bruise on his face around one of his eye sockets.
  • In two distinct scenes, there is a tension-filled scuffle between a man and a young teenage boy.
  • One of the main themes of the film is theft involving youthful offenders, so there is no shortage of such, while armed robbery is also contemplated by at least one character and ultimately attempted by two.
  • A young boy wielding a pistol practices firing from cover in playful effigy and without pulling the trigger.

Profanity

  • Words that translate to "smart ass" and "asshole" are uttered, yet in one instance the actual word used is "pendejo" which refers to public hair just below the abdomen.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Two young boys drink beer through straws and out of plastic bags. In two separate scenes, a young teenage boy can be seen smoking briefly. Two men smoke cigarettes and drink beer, while two empty beer bottles are near where the men are seated. A young woman begins to smoke, a young teenage boy having lit her cigarette for her. No wine, liquor or hard narcotic is referenced let alone depicted in the film.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Apart from the suspenseful heists, there are no intense or frightening scenes. The style of the film is borderline cinéma vérité and with no music to supplement the dramatic events, perhaps typical of independent films or art house kinds.
  • Although there are elements in the film for every category of the guide, the content is mild enough to warrant a rating of PG-13.
