Like some of the characters, I'm from NYC and moved to LA.
This movie addressed a couple things I am so happy about- LA is not romantic. It doesn't rain here. Romantic movies have couples under an umbrella in the rain.
The other is when guys try to guess what kind of Asian you are- and how annoying it is! I was cracking up the whole way through the movie when it played today at the Mann's in the Beverly Center.
My fave part was when Marvin was using his friends health insurance and had to act gay.
The writing is wonderful and hilarious, while tackling issues of race and the social quandary over immigration in our country.
The film tied everything together really well, without being another trite movie about young people in the city.
LA Proper is thoroughly refreshing.
