Amos and Rachel Hendrix own a chicken ranch that a developer wants to buy. Amos wants to do so and has accepted an advance payment but Rachel is adamantly against selling. She is a bit of a harridan and he is one nasty fellow. He refers to their hired hand (who has spent time in a mental hospital and is working for them on some kind of release program) as Stupid. The hand, named Gillian, asks Amos what he was doing with the rifle, was he hunting? and Amos says yes "I was hunting old crow." Amos is clearly setting up Gillian for killing Rachel. Fortunately Blackie and Mary come to the farm to buy eggs and also fortunately, Amos is absolutely inept. Whitey twice distracts a man with a gun (once Gillian and once Amos) and thus saves the day. Love that dog. This had a good cast and as always, Blackie and Mary project an easy going fondness that is so nice to see. Kent Taylor is tops and this show is enjoyable.
