Petofi in Quentin has told Evan he will bury him alive. Evan is able to talk his way out of it by saying he can be ally for Petofi. He tells Evan he needs information on Angelique.
Angelique calls the pharmacy for medicines, she hides this fact from Quentin.
Charity/Pansy goes to Charles Delaware Tate and wants to buy a portrait. A window sash falls during this scene, startling Roger Davis but he gets on with the scene. Charity wants the portrait of Amanda Harris but Tate does not want to sell.
Evan follows Angelique and watches her go into a secret door in the ground. He reports back to Petofi in Quentin.
Later Charity/Pansy tells Angelique the man who appears to be Quentin is not him.
