This is an amazing short documentary about the methamphetamine addiction crisis among housewives in Utah!! Apparently, this very conservative Mormon-dominated state is among the nation's leaders in meth abuse and frequently these are "perfect moms"--not our usual concept of an addict. It seems some take the drug to enable them to "do it all"--to lose weight, do all the housework and still have energy. However, naturally, over time, the opposite is the case and the people are unable to function.
What makes this interesting later in the film is that you learn that the young lady who made this film did so because it has effected her whole family and she is determined to bring this hidden problem into the open. This part of the film is rather tough to watch--it packs an excellent emotional punch.
Throughout the film, there is a lot of information about its long-term effects on the teeth, memory and morality that make you marvel that anyone would try it in the first place--and it's a GREAT film to show your kids to help protect them against any temptation to do drugs! An amazing and important documentary film.
