May the Force be with your ability to control your bowels when Alamo Drafthouse hosts a nine-film Star Wars marathon on May 3-4, resulting in 21 hours worth of adventure in a galaxy far, far away. This year’s May the 4th celebration is about endurance when the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission location in San Francisco screens every movie in the Skywalker Saga back-to-back. The reason to buy a pack of adult diapers begins on May 3 with The Phantom Menace and ends the next day with The Rise of Skywalker.
While 21 hours of Star Wars is child’s play for many hardcore fans, casual padawans can rest knowing there will be breaks and “unlimited coffee and water” to keep you going throughout the experience. Marathon attendees can also enjoy Star Wars-themed food items, an elaborate Star Wars-themed lobby for socializing and photo ops, games, and trivia sessions between each chapter of the beloved space opera.

A remake of Little Shop Of Horrors is in the works with director Joe Dante and original creator Roger Corman.
The last update we had on a remake of Little Shop Of Horrors was back in 2020, when it was reported that Taron Egerton, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans were set to star, with Greg Berlanti directing from a script by Matthew Robinson.
It now appears those plans have been abandoned in favour of a different creative team. Described as a “reimagining intended to jumpstart a new franchise”, Little Shop Of Halloween Horrors will be directed by Joe Dante, according to Deadline.
Charles S Haas, who previously collaborated with Dante on Gremlins 2: The New Batch, will write the screenplay. Roger Corman will co-produce with Brad Krevoy.
The story originated as low-budget film directed by Corman and co-starring a young Jack Nicholson. Little Shop Of Horrors quickly cemented itself as a...

It’s Cape Fear meets ‘The Burbs in director John Schlesinger’s Pacific Heights. Although you might be fooled by Hanz Zimmer’s score, which sounds a lot more like you’re watching Sexy Beetlejuice than a ’90s thriller. This is pure irony, of course, considering the film stars Beetlejuice himself, Michael Keaton, as a conman who is six feet from the edge and thinking maybe doing murder isn’t so far down.
For those of you arguing silently in your heads that Pacific Heights is not a horror movie, let me go ahead and agree with you. It’s a pure thriller. But imagine this for a moment; imagine somewhere out there is a fresh-off Batman Michael Keaton, sitting in a dark room twirling both a razor blade and a large cockroach through his fingers like some sort of emo fidget spinner, plotting you and your significant other’s demise.

Hello Dankness Review: A Tiresome Feature-Length Shitpost Remixing American Pop Culture and Politics
If the joy of art is that it can be interpreted in infinite ways over time, then is a project which “remixes” classic movie scenes by forcing them into the current political climate redundant in concept? Take Joe Dante’s The Burbs, one of the key films featured in art collective Soda Jerk’s recycled musical Hello Dankness, and which remains relevant because its combination of suburban malaise and paranoia continues to echo into our sharply divided political climate. Does lazily editing yard signs for Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump into characters’ front gardens really feel like a bold new addition to such an older work? Or does it just state the obvious as to how a modern audience might interpret the character archetypes it presented us with in the first place?
Hello Dankness is a tiresome exercise due to how it states every clear, played-out satirical point of the...

Some cliche somewhere said that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words.’ This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. “Awesome Art We’ve Found Around The Net” is the outlet for that passion. In this column, I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That’s the aim. If you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me at any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.

Actor Corey Feldman wants no part in the reboots of his classic 1980s films. Pic credit: ©ImageCollect.com/Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency
When it comes to rebooting classic films of yesteryear, count Corey Feldman out, especially when it involves movies he originally starred in.
The 51-year-old actor famously starred in a string of well-known movies as a youth in the 1980s, including Gremlins, Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, and The Goonies.
All those films were successful with moviegoers at the box office and still enjoy classic cult status.
Several of those movies are getting rebooted, which has become the recent formula within Hollywood to generate more box office revenue by reintroducing classic film concepts to new audiences.
During a recent appearance on the Domenick Nati Show, Feldman was asked about the planned reboots for some of his films and if he had any involvement in them.
Based on his responses,...

Cbbc’s Creeped Out is a geek paradise for lovers of 80s sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Did you spot these movie references?
Contains mild spoilers for Creeped Out.

“Nods to Spielberg, Zemeckis, Joe Dante, even John Carpenter…” Director Steve Hughes (Doctor Who, Wolfblood) is telling me about the first time he read a script for Cbbc anthology series Creeped Out. “I remember begging ‘you have to let me direct this – it’s my dream job!’”
The scripts, Hughes recalls, had a real flavour of Amazing Stories (“one of my favourite TV series from the 80s”) and “were clearly written by people who loved the same films as TV shows as I did.” Those people were Bede Blake and Robert Butler, movie nerds through and through.
