Sex & Nudity

    • No nudity of any kind, and no sex onscreen.
    • Count Dracula seems to be interested in women who are obviously married, not just to bite.
    • Jonathon says that if Ingrid invites him to her coffin, he'll tell her that he's not that kind of boy.
    • Puberty is hinted.
    • Vlad jokes, asking if the Count is going to teach him "the birds and the bees".
    • A few innuendos that may bypass younger viewers, for example: "shaved or au naturel".
    • The Count and a woman talk about how she was only eighteen when she became pregnant.

Violence & Gore

    • The violence is bloodless and does not occur in the majority of scenes.
    • Vlad and Ingrid physically fight each other in two episodes.
    • Slayers and vampires briefly engage in combat. The weapon of choice is the wooden stake.
    • Several vampires meet a violent end and turn to dust.

Profanity

    • Most words used are either made up or very mild (hell, idiot).
    • The Count says "Why the f....laming torches didn't you tell me?"
    • In one episode Vlad can be heard saying "fog off" to his tutor.
    • When using a walkie talkie, Vlad says: "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

    • Some allusions made within a fantasy setting.
    • The blood drinks in the blood cellar are similar to bottles of wine.
    • In one episode Renfield is given a potion which causes him to become over confident.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

    • The Shapeshifter can morph into anyone and is very unsettling.
    • The 'blood farm' from one episode is nightmarish. Homeless people are sedated and used as blood dispensers.
