So says the misogynistic vampire so completely obsessed with a memory of a woman long dead that he wants to recreate her out of the living. He's plotting with Carolyn to get ahold of Julia's notebook, and to get Julia out of her room, Carolyn pretend that Barnabas wants to see her at the old house. A visit from Maggie Evans alarms Carolyn and eventually Maggie begins to have feelings similar to when Barnabas was stalking her. Julia realizes that it was a ruse to get her out of the house, and that of course opens up other suspicions for her. I would be too if out of the blue, Barnabas suddenly started being courteous to me.
So Julia is a lot stronger than Barnabas gives her credit for, and you think that he'd admire her for that, but not when it comes to his feelings for Vicki who is now out of town. We get to see mrs. Johnson this episode, and in fact, she provides the narration over the opening, something that either Carolyn or Julia would do in Victoria's absence. The narration indicates that somebody once again is going to die, and considering who is in the episode, that remains doubtful. But it does have a spooky ending, and it's interesting to try to figure out how Julia we'll get out of this predicament.
