Various plights

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 324 is one of those filler episodes where secondary characters wander and mope around and worry about their current plight. The two character emphasised here are David, currently developing a more than rational fear of Barnabas, and Dr Hoffman, who is busy trying to pretend everything is hunky dory.

When will Barnabas be back? Tonight.

Warning: Spoilers
Things have calmed down storyline wise as Willie remains critical and Barnabas is "away" for the day. Julia puts the suspicion in Dave's head that she believed all along that Willie was responsible, and is quite convincing in why she kept quiet. Most of the episode surrounds concern over David with the back from Boston Elizabeth confiding to Victoria her fears that David is still in danger but there are also hints that Julia has certain romantic feelings towards Barnabas, strange considering that Barnabas had threatened her life several times. The unseen vampire is the subject of quite a few conversations here, the most important being David's growing fear of him.

The insinuations of Dave towards Julia that she has a greater interest in Barnabas than just an interview subject is John humorously with a glow coming from Grayson Hall that confirms Dr. Woodard's playful suspicions. This is the most womanly we've seen Julia be with a girlish glow coming from her that is difficult to explain but it is very cutely done. The climax of the episode involving the portrait of the old Barnabas is very spooky with David commenting on his eyes as he had seen them in his nightmare. It's a good ending to an otherwise average episode.
