Globe-trotting Tintin excitement
Leofwine_draca1 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
THE CIGARS OF THE PHARAOH is a two-part animated episode of the ADVENTURES OF TINTIN TV series and pretty much what you'd expect of a comic book adaptation. Our globetrotting hero barely has time to draw breath before he becomes involved in a strange kidnap conspiracy that stretches from Cairo to India, with only a series of unique pharaoh-branded cigars providing a clue as to the villainous plot.

The makers of this story fill both episodes with endless action and excitement, with Tintin facing capture or near death every few minutes. The Thompson Twins make an appearance in a hostile role although Captain Haddock and Professor Calculas are missing. Snowy has plenty of screen time and is a lovable presence. The depictions of exotic locales are well drawn and there are some memorable characters here, particularly the hypnotising mystic who proves to be the story's biggest villain.

Epic TinTin Adventure

Action packed and full of great adventure elements and memorable side characters.

The highlight is the bizarre trip experienced by TinTin when he inhales the gas.
