Winner of Best Short at the Long Island Big Fish Film Festival in 2006, it also procured Best Actress award for Heather Dilly at the Long Island International Film Expo. The Look Away Life is a short foray into an extraordinary situation between April and Ben. April is the unconventional marriage counselor hired by Ben to help him examine his failings as a husband. What happens to them during the course of this 'business arrangement' is what makes this film compelling to watch. Inside Ben's hotel room it is physically claustrophobic but it allows both of the freedom to explore their imaginary scenarios within the safety of their dysfunctional arena. Great writing and acting.
