Very entertaining show!
otisx4 August 2006
You gotta see it to believe it. The most entertaining two hours in all of Pittsburgh. The cast manages to surprise me every weekend. It's only a matter of time until these folks go nation-wide. Self-effacing humor is the strong suit here. Also, anyone is fair game. Best segments include "Where that come from? and "Problem Solved" The actors also perform as Deathmobile and are very versatile musicians who are able to switch incitement's and give the band a morphing, yet identifiable sound. My favorite character is "Pointy" who is also the musical/technical director. The promotions are done in a clever style which tend to entertain. I have nothing bad to say about this show.

Superb Local Horror-Movie Skit Show
rgraham-34 August 2006
"It's Alive!" is a wonderful television show run on WBGN-TV in Pittsburgh, PA. In the grand tradition of "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark", "Bartelby" or "Chiller Theatre", this show presents B horror movies interspersed with skits from a running caste of characters - Professor Emcee Square, Pointy the Devil, Fritz the Hunchback, Stiffy the Dead Clown, Heather the Mummy, The Whispering Nantucket, Hellga Scheidenentzündung, Mother, Urnie, and Cyst with Teeth and Hair.

You get the idea.

What raises this show above the others is the genuine talent of all involved. All of these characters are members of "Deathmobile", a pretty good rock band. So you get some darn good rock music! Also, frankly, the skits (tied into the movie) are very very very good.

This show is building momentum in this area, thanks to a web site that draws in loyal viewers. Look for "It's Alive!" to take off, not unlike "Mystery Science Theatre".

You can catch it Saturday nights at 10:00. Anyone in the Southwestern Pennsylvania - Eastern Ohio - Northern WV area should be able to see it by cable or satellite dish. Believe me, it will be worth it to find it - and watch it - and get sucked into it.

Horror entertainment at it's finest

I never miss an episode of this show. It's the perfect mix of horror films and an entertaining cast hosting the movie. The cast brings horror film knowledge, musical talent and humor and blends them into a can't miss show. Not only has the cast provided us with a great show but they also have local meet up for the fans to hang out with them. The house band Deathmobile rocks. I can't wait for the release of their CD. Pittsburgh is home to a lot of entertaining horror and The It's Alive Show has continued it with a style and quality. If you like horror films then you don't want to miss another episode. You will not regret spending a couple of hours watching this show every Saturday night on WBGN at 10 PM.

The most original hosted horror show available.

The most original hosted horror show available. This combination or rock, whit and older horror movies will keep you coming back week after week. With the Professor in the lead, the cast manages to turn out a truly professional product while keeping some of that "friends having fun" aspect unique to this ensemble. With everything from regular segments (such as Chef Chicken and Problem Solved) to the musical guests, there isn't a better way to spend a Saturday evening.

A hidden gem to keep your eyes open for are the occasional appearances of "Hellga", a mute Nosferatu-like female creature soon to marry the shows resident demon. Without any voice or facial expressions, the actress manages to convey more emotion and character than most television figures today. Something to look for and enjoy.

Great Saturday Night Show
alex-19185 August 2006
If you want to enjoy old horror movies on a dark Saturday night, make sure you watch The It's Alive Show on TV station WGBN in Pittsbugh. The cast does an outstanding job of providing bits, skits, music and overall hi-jinx during the show. The show is a instant "classic". The cast is also a talented group of musicians who have a group called Deathmobile. They preform the ending song "Me Love". This show has been on for over a year now and just keeps getting better. Chiller Theater has been off the air in Pittsburgh since 1983. It's Alive has been a long time in coming! So stock up on your favorite beverage and grab some snacks....Late night horror movies have returned to Pittsburgh!

A new cult favorite in the making

Remember when you were a kid and you looked forward to staying up late on Saturday nights to watch scary movies? Those days are back, and it's time to wake the dead. Grab a brew and some popcorn and dig in for The It's Alive Show!

Broadcasting on Saturdays at 10 PM from WBGN in Pittsburgh, the show has just recently expanded its viewing area by adding live streaming video to its web site (www.theitsaliveshow.com). Now anyone with a computer can enjoy the classic B-horror movies, comedy skits and musical interludes by local garage band extraordinaire, Deathmobile.

In the spirit of Chiller Theater, Mystery Science Theater and Commander USA's Groovie Movies, the show is hosted by Professor Emcee Square who deals out finely honed criticism ("this movie is crap") and some intense yet deserved chicken whacking. The cast also features: Pointy, a demon of few words who personifies ennui and drips sarcasm; Stiffy, a lovable beer-swilling dead clown who is usually the target of the Prof's anger; Fritz 3, the third incarnation of one of the Professor's cloning experiment gone wrong; Hellga, Pointy's silent vampire fiancée; and the latest addition, Heather, the Mummy. And of course, you must tune in to see Mother and Urnie.

Horror historian Bruce Lentz, owner of Incredibly Strange Video in the Dormont section of Pittsburgh (www.incrediblystrangevideo.com), recommends the films, ranging from classics such as The Last Man on Earth and Carnival of Souls to so-bad-it's-good schlock fests like The Horror of Party Beach and The Creeping Terror, and hidden gems like the wildly popular Spider Baby.

Adding to the fun is "audience participation" in the form of a weekly live chat on the show's message board. The "Lifeless", hard core fans of The It's Alive Show, turn it into a virtual Rocky Horror Show experience and have cultivated a loyal following extending to meet ups and street team activities publicizing the show.

So if you are in the mood for some cheesy horror movie fun, tune it to The It's Alive Show – you will be strangely satisfied.
