Episode 43
kevinolzak29 April 2010
Episode 43 begins with Corinne's baby keeping everyone up at night(The Major's response: "what kind of men are they drafting these days!") Jessica tells Mary about her evening with Donohue, adding that they didn't sleep together, and Mary's reaction prompts her sister to remark "gee, you sound more disappointed than he did!" A frank discussion about having affairs(or wanting to have one)includes Jessica admitting how nice it is to be with one person all your life("you don't have to explain your scars to him!"),while Mary laments that she couldn't have a never-to-be-forgotten affair because of the way she looks in the morning("he'd take one look at me and leave the bed in a rocket!") Jessica decides to have an affair with Donohue, and after they finally sleep together, she arrives home to find her supposedly-dead husband Chester at the front door(Benson admits that she wouldn't want him to get that! "yes I do!" "no you don't!").Burt discovers that Sally lied to Mary about their affair because she was being blackmailed by the vengeful Ingrid Svenson(Inga Swenson, back for one final appearance),Corinne's real mother, who possesses a porno film that Sally had made to earn some quick cash for her ailing brother.Danny asks Jodie to help get their folks back together, and meets Alice, his brother's cute, sexy roommate, who believes Danny is Jodie's date(and Danny can't believe that Alice is gay).

She's back!!!!!
Sleepin_Dragon31 December 2023
Burt confronts Sally over her lies, and discovers who's at the bottom of things. Danny gets to meet Alice for the first time, Jessica decides that she's going to have an affair with Donahue.

It's a great episode for Danny, he comes up with some hilarious moments, good to see, his Burt impression was fun, and his misunderstanding about gay women was also really funny.

Jessica's breakfast in bed scene with Detective Donahue was a scream, but where on Earth is Chester going to fit in when he finally manages to find his way home.

Loved seeing Inga Swenson back, her character is so over the top, so maniacal, and that accent is so wonderfully funny.

8/10.

"Soap"was great fun.

This show was great, back in 1977 when it premiered I remember having to sneak to watch as (at First ) this type of show was considered a bit risqué.But audiences soon warmed up to to hilarious Characters and plot lines. Also this was the first show to have a regular character that was Gay(Billy Crystal)(Great job Billy)It would be great if they could do a reunion Movie (of course some actors are gone now like Catherine Damon,Richard Mulligan, but they could bring together surviving cast members .The show was never ended in a proper way(I believe they tried after being cancelled by ABC ,they had the Character Jessica Tate show up as a ghost on "Benson". Good new 'Soap " is available on DVD and also on 'Comcast "On Demand "for free.If you never seen this show or would like to again ,check it out. There is nothing but good laughs and plain goofiness on this show,"Hey we all need to have a few laughs in our life..Check it out...
