Sometimes the bad guys really should win.

There's something strange about 'Renegade Rocket'. What should've been a tense race against time (as well as an oncoming missile) is marred by character inconsistencies and head-shaking moments. Colonel White's lack of emotional reaction to the Mysteron takeover of his friend is odd. And then there's Captains Blue and Scarlet's flagrant insubordination when White orders them to evacuate. The code to disarm the rocket was ZERO. Working through the list, they get to . . . AMEN. They never even got through the As; it doesn't paint either of them in a good light when fate steps in and destroys the rocket for them.

All of this would be more entertaining (even ironically) if the whole thing wasn't so lifeless.

Renegade Rocket

On his way to Base Concord, an island-based rocket installation, Space Major Reeves is killed by Captain Black... and immediately replaced by a Mysteronized duplicate. Once in the Rocket Control Room, he launches a new Variable Geometry Rocket (VGR) - a missile designed to overcome all forms of defence in order to reach its target... With Reeves and the missile control panel gone, it's left to Captain's Scarlet and Blue to try and stop this renegade rocket before it causes a major disaster...

Plods along adequately with a race against time to stop a renegade rocket. Of course, the mysteron are up to their tricks again - a space major is duplicated. The focus isn't on Captain Scarlett so much and it centred around the team. An average episode.
