There’s no denying that the only major Superman villains to have gotten any limelight in the movies are Lex Luthor and General Zod. But given the opportunity, Superman helmer Zack Snyder would have introduced a different and more significant villain from the comics that would have changed the trajectory of his Man of Steel sequel.

Exclusive: Netflix’s new feature Boss Dan Lin has tapped former DreamWorks Animation and Coyote Vs. Acme producer Chris deFaria to consult for the streamer’s animation department, we hear on very good authority.
Lin and deFaria worked together on the mega success of The Lego Movie when the duo were at Warners. Essentially, what is being sorted at Netflix is how to eventize their animation movies more. The streamer, together with Annapurna, saved the Blue Sky axed Disney LGBTQ+ movie Nimona, a casualty of the Disney-Fox merger; the pic wound up getting an Oscar nomination for Animated Feature.

Netflix just got a touch more supernatural with the arrival of “Dead Boy Detectives” where the veil between the worlds thins. This chilling new series isn’t a typical detective show. Based on the DC characters by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, the series involves restless spirits, vengeful demons, and the occasional existential crisis – all tackled by a most unusual duo: a pair of teenage ghosts.

Despite ‘Creature Commandos’ being released first, James Gunn revealed that he considers ‘Superman’ bound to be released in 2025 as the true start of the Dcu. When the project was first announced we knew nothing about it save that Henry Cavill won’t be reprising his role as Clark Kent and that Gunn is looking for a younger Superman.
He however remained adamant that the movie won’t feature Superman’s origin story since it’s been done to death on-screen, and the live-action adaptations don’t need young Superman once more. He was also clear enough that he is not making a young ‘Superman’ movie, just a ‘Superman’ movie on his private profile on Threads.

Although ‘Creature Commandos’ came out first, James Gunn considers ‘Superman,’ slated for a 2025 release, as the true beginning of the Dcu. When the project was initially announced, little was known about it except that Henry Cavill wouldn’t reprise his role as Clark Kent, and Gunn was seeking a younger actor for Superman.
However, Gunn was firm in his stance that the film wouldn’t delve into Superman’s origin story, as it’s been extensively covered on-screen already, and he didn’t want to retread familiar ground. He clarified on his private profile on Threads that he’s not making a movie about a young Superman, but rather a Superman movie.
Now, it appears that Gunn has had a change of heart, as a recent casting call indicates they’re searching for young actors to portray Clark Kent. This suggests the possibility of flashbacks in the movie.

Zack Snyder’s early films proved him to be an interesting visionary who had a distinct style to his works. Grand visuals, the application of slow-mo sequences, and colorful imagery have been the main strengths and trademarks of a Snyder film. However, audiences have been divisive about his big screen DC films in the 2010s.
Zack Snyder’s DC tenure started with 2013’s Man of Steel
Considering the hit-or-miss nature of Snyder with audiences, the 2020s saw a big change in the director and where he puts his films. Starting from Army of the Dead, his films have only premiered on Netflix. This sudden downgrade from making big-budget studio films for the big screen to just releasing streaming films is surprising but a new report sheds light on how films are greenlit nowadays.

Zack Snyder promised a spectacle with his Rebel Moon franchise following his collaboration with Netflix. After the critical bomb in the first part of Rebel Moon, the sequel followed the same fate. Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver was able to claim only a 52% Rotten Tomatoes score, which was mediocre for a movie of that magnitude.

In the 90 years since his creation, Superman has had many different versions. There have been many to stand out from these, for good and bad reasons. Perhaps one of the most controversial has to be Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, which is a darker version of the character. While many fans loved the fresher approach, there were many fundamental changes made that completely went against the character’s philosophy.

Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel has been regarded as one of the best and most controversial films in the history of the DC Universe. It has a very interesting approach to an origin story that has been the same for decades. However, while some of the changes worked very well, others were rather controversial.
Man of Steel
The perfect example of a change that was not well-received by fans was the fate of Jonathan Kent in the film. Audiences were not happy when Clark Kent’s father was killed because of a tornado—not because they did not want him to die, but because of the reason that was given for his death.
Suggested“I have the power to do it”: Zack Snyder Defends Controversial Man of Steel Scene that Killed Off a Fan-Favorite Character
Despite this, Snyder has stood by the decision, even after a decade has passed.

When asking viewers to list the qualities that best characterize a Zack Snyder film, ‘slow motion’ is probably going to be mentioned nine times out of ten. David Corenswet is our new Man of Steel, but before landing the leading role in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, he had auditioned for the role of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, at least, that was the rumour.

Zack Snyder has been a hot and cold figure in the DC fandom. Even though he has been regarded as one of the most talented filmmakers to have even been part of the franchise, his approach towards certain characters raised several eyebrows during his time working in the universe. He made several fundamental changes to certain characters that completely went against their moral code.
Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel
The best example would be the fact that Ben Affleck’s Batman killed 30 people in the SnyderVerse. In almost every version of the character, the no-killing rule has been the only separation between the Caped Crusader and the villains he fights. Another perfect example would be that of Superman.

Henry Cavill’s role as Nazi-killing commando soldier, Major Gus March-Phillips in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare required one unique training for his role. While Cavill killed it in the gunfire and action scenes acting like a madman with his tongue out, it was his twirly stylish mustache that needed training. It appears that the mustache was a more difficult job than executing the action scenes.

Henry Cavill is one of the most beloved Hollywood stars around at present. The Man of Steel actor has managed to win hearts with his acting chops just as much as he has with his charming personality. Moreover, he has become an idol of sorts to young boys, not just with his choice of roles, but with his actions too.
Cavill is a gentleman through and through, something that has been quite apparent since he broke out in the industry. He had a slip-up during the #MeToo movement, but other than that one instance, the British actor has been very respectful of everyone. Moreover, Guy Ritchie just confirmed what many have always felt about him: Cavill is chivalrous.

Few modern blockbuster filmmakers draw as sharply divided reactions from critics and general audiences as Zack Snyder. For every review that praises Snyder’s remarkable ability to create grand, fantastical visual imagery on film, there will be another review criticizing the filmmaker’s overreliance on slow motion and weak plot points. Let us take a look at Snyder’s filmography, and the critical reaction to his works as determined by Rotten Tomatoes.
Dawn of the Dead (2004), Tomatometer: 76% Zombies attack in Dawn of the Dead
Zack Snyder‘s maiden effort as a director remains his most critically successful venture. In 2004, Zack Snyder presented the world with his dramatic reimagining of George Romero’s classic horror tale of a zombie invasion. The slick, visually compelling action scenes coupled with a strong screenplay by James Gunn help elevate the film above your run-of-the-mill horror remakes.

Zack Snyder is currently promoting his latest movie, ‘The Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver,’ but he’s also talking about his former movies, especially those that were part of the ill-fated Dceu.
Snyder commented a while back that Batman is boring if he is not put in a situation where he has to kill people. More recently, he also commented on Zod’s and Superman’s fight in ‘Man of Steel,’ saying that Superman is also fake if he is not able to kill Zod, as the character has to be put in a situation to kill villains to further cement his humanity.
Now one of the most notable scenes and plot twists in Snyderverse actually came from ‘Batman v Superman.’ Batman and Superman are fighting when they realize their mothers have the same name. In this moment, Batman realizes that Superman is more human than he thought. Fans were shocked by this,...

Henry Cavill is undoubtedly one of the greatest and most versatile actors in Hollywood, who has a career spanning from thrillers to action flicks and even television projects. While he is known for his prolific performance, improvisation isn’t something that we expect from Cavill. But you’ll be shocked to know how the actor improvised a couple of gleefully bloody scenes in Guy Ritchie’s latest offering.
Henry Cavill in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
Appearing in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a story based on secret, real-life WWII commandos, Henry Cavill delivered a few Nazi-killing sequences where he is seen sticking his tongue out like a rock star, out of sheer happiness, every time he kills a German soldier. Well, that was apparently improvised by Guy Ritchie and Cavill.

Zack Snyder is traveling around to talk about his new movie, ‘Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver’, and he’s been discussing his old movies along the way, both the good and the bad.
Recently, Snyder surprised fans when he said that Batman is dull if he doesn’t kill. However, many disagree because Batman’s character isn’t about killing, and that’s a widely accepted fact.
Snyder recently talked with GQ about his top movies, including ‘Man of Steel,’ which had a mixed reception, with some critics finding it “exceptionally unpleasant.” One major criticism was the fight scene between Zod and Superman, which some fans felt was out of character. Snyder even stated that if Superman couldn’t kill Zod, he would be fake. Yes, he actually said that.

Tom Cruise is easily one of the biggest Hollywood stars of all time. Even though he has been in the industry for over four decades, he is still sought after by the best directors to star in their projects. The actor himself exerts his influence too, often to bring out the best in him, and his decisions have always paid off.
However, he does not always get his way, as Zack Snyder recently revealed. The director confessed that he wanted the Mission: Impossible actor to play a certain character in one of his films, but Cruise sought a different role.

Considering the impact it has had on both its fan base and the world at large, Man of Steel undoubtedly stands as one of the greatest Superman films ever made. And thus, surpassing its success would undoubtedly be a challenging task. It’s remarkable to think how the movie has influenced other films that seemingly had no connection to it.
Man of Steel has reshaped the landscape of comic book films, introducing thought-provoking themes and emotional connections that were previously unexpected in the genre. Instead of merely serving as entertainment, it has become something far greater than just a typical superhero movie.

Challengers Vs Dune 2: Zendaya Leads With Her Tennis Drama In One Aspect, Leaving Behind Her & Timothee Chalamet’s Blockbuster Film. (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Zendaya is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood among the current generation, and she has impressed us with her performance in Dune 2. Now, as per the Challengers’ reviews, she is winning there, too. However, the actress is currently leading in one aspect, and she beat her colleague Timothee Chalamet. The tennis drama still has a few days before its theatrical release, and here’s why it is winning.
Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino has directed the sports drama starring Zendaya in the lead role. He is known for critically acclaimed films like I Am Love, Bigger Splash, and Call Me by Your Name. He has been nominated for both the Oscars and BAFTA Awards. The 2024 film features Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist in significant roles besides the Dune actress.

A new movie just came out from Zack Snyder, the divisive but provocative director who has inspired legions of passionate and loyal fans online, but it hardly feels like anyone outside of the internet knows or even cares much. Perhaps that's the peril of falling into the streaming trap, where name-brand talents receive sky-high budgets for productions that no traditional studio is willing to support ... only to be promptly forgotten once its brief time in Netflix's weekly Top 10 reports comes and goes. Full disclosure: It's downright strange to have been able to see "Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver" in a theater and base this review on that experience, particularly when the vast majority of those reading this will never have the same opportunity. Yet it's stranger still that the film we've received, from a visionary auteur whose battles with corporate overlords during his tenure in the DC...

Zack Snyder built this gritty realistic superhero world for his version of Dceu. Starting with Man of Steel in 2013, the Watchmen director helmed three successful movies while planning several other dropped projects. One common criticism he received for Batman v Superman was that he did not properly flesh out solo superhero stories before going for an ensemble film. However, Snyder clarified why he chose to do the team-up film.

According to Zack Snyder, one of the most significant Dceu storylines seems to have originated from none other than Oscar-winning star Leonardo DiCaprio. The 49-year-old actor was once considered for the role of Lex Luthor, Superman’s greatest enemy. In an exclusive interview with Josh Horowitz for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the director disclosed that he had a meeting with the Titanic star to discuss the role in his 2016 superhero flick, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
However, Jesse Eisenberg ultimately won the role. Snyder also recalled that DiCaprio came up with the plan to pit Henry Cavill’s Superman against the Justice League. Sadly, the Dceu timeline came to an end in 2023 (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom), capping ten years of superhero films that started with Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013).

Man of Steel was the movie that propelled Henry Cavill to global popularity, but even though he nailed the role of Superman/Clark Kent, he could not have done some of the emotional scenes without the help of his costars. The actor credits veteran stars Diane Lane and Kevin Costner for helping him out.

The pair portrayed Jonathan and Martha Kent, the adoptive parents of Superman. As someone who has been in the industry longer than Cavill, they understand the difficulty of delivering tricky scenes, so they were both ready to assist the younger star.

Zack Snyder’s Dceu garnered praise for its boldness, but it also faced criticism, particularly for casting choices and deviations from source material.
Regarding casting, Snyder’s interpretation of live-action adaptations introduced one of the least favored portrayals of Lex Luthor in history, played by Jesse Eisenberg. This isn’t a criticism of Eisenberg himself, but rather a reflection on how he may not have been the best fit for the role.
Luthor was frequently mentioned in ‘Man of Steel,’ but his initial on-screen appearance came in ‘Batman v Superman.’ Despite widespread disappointment with his portrayal, he made appearances in the post-credits scenes of ‘Justice League’ and Snyder’s Cut.
Years later, Snyder disclosed that he had extensive discussions with a notable actor about the Luthor role. He made this revelation during the Happy Sad Confused podcast while promoting his latest movie ‘Rebel Moon.’

Zack Snyder’s Dceu was praised for many things, first and foremost being bold, but it was also more often than not criticized. Both for the choices of actors and for the creative freedoms he took with the source material.
Speaking of casting decisions, Snyder’s take on the live-action adaptations gave us one of the worst Luthors in the history of portrayals – Jesse Eisenberg. Nothing against Eisenberg of course, he just wasn’t the right fit for that role.
Luthor was heavily referenced in ‘Man of Steel,’ but his first actual appearance was in ‘Batman v Superman’. Even though a lot of people were disappointed with his portrayal of the character, he appeared in the post-credits scenes of ‘Justice League’ and Snyder’s Cut.
Now years after everything has wrapped up, Snyder revealed that there was one notable actor who had extensive talks with him regarding the Luthor role.
