A nice change of pace for the series.

"The Family Tree" is a nice change of pace for this normally dramatic and very serious series. For a change, this show is a big comedic--with a clever and funny ending.

Mr. Carver (George Meader) is a man who thinks he knows far more than he knows. So, when Mrs. Carver (Frances Bavier) begins consulting with a genealogist (Hugh Beaumont), he assumes the man is a crook and contacts Captain Braddock. But Braddock cannot find a record on the man and he's done nothing illegal. At this point, you think PERHAPS this will be a first--an episode without an actual crime. However, there's more to this one--and soon Mr. Carver proves to be a very easy mark. Fortunately, Mrs. Carver isn't so easily swayed and, with Braddock's help, they spring a little trap.

This is just one you need to see for yourself. Trust me, it's pretty clever. And, it can be downloaded for free along with many other episodes at archive.org.

Aunt Bee before she was Aunt Bee !

This is a funny and interesting episode of "Racket Squad". We get to see an early appearance of several familiar actors.

Francis Bavier is here, almost a decade before her best known role as "Aunt Bee" on 'The Andy Griffith show.

Hugh Beaumont is here,5 years before he played dad Ward Cleaver on "Leave it to Beaver"!

This is a very good episode.

A top-notch episode of Racket Squad, with a twist of humor thrown in.

This is in the very early days of Television; the now-recognizable cast is superb. We have Hugh Beaumont, who later plays "Ward Cleaver" on the classic show Leave It To Beaver. And we get Frances Bavier, who we know as "Aunt Bee" of Mayberry, North Carolina. Also making a great performance is a young Paul Brinegar; he will play camp chef "Wishbone" in over 200 episodes of the classic Western show, "Rawhide".

Good script, good production, a very smooth con operation. Of course, Captain Braddock will make his appearance right on time.

I rate this show 10 stars!
