Susan Strasberg plays a girl who was part of a trio of Arapahoes looking to pick
off some Shiloh cattle. On further inspection they discover she's a white girl,
most likely taken by Arapahoes when they were at war.
Charles Bickford tries his best to make her at home in Shiloh and the white world and granddaughter Sara Lane tries to help her adjust but to no avail.
After a lot of investigation Bickford thinks that Don Hamner and Virginia Vincent might be the possible parents. Whether he's right and whether they can connect with Strassberg is for you to watch this episode.
This issue is explored in some detail in the John Ford film Two Rode Together and in Walt Disney's Light Of The Forest. It's handled well in this Virginian story.
