Charlie Sabastiano ( Henry Silva) is doing well in the drug trade, but then a girl dies of an overdose of drugs. But not before she IDs the pusher for Ness which leads things back to Charlie's door. The headlines are bad business for the mob, so local mob leader Joe Genna orders Charlie to stop the drug trade, but says that the mob will stake him so he can go into bootlegging. Now, Joe is just the chairman of the board, and Charlie sees that Joe's brother Frank disagrees with Joe's decision. So Charlie comes up with a daring plan to kill Joe so that the more friendly Frank Genna will become boss and Charlie can resume selling drugs.
The plot is good and quite ironic, but what is really interesting is seeing Conrad Janis as a drug addict and a murderer eighteen years before he is Mindy's mild mannered father in Mork and Mindy. It is quite a departure from his usual roles. The Untouchables often had particular guest stars who would return in different roles for different episodes, but Henry Silva is a rare case of an actor returning in the same role, probably because Little Charlie is just such a vicious character whose volatility oozes off the screen even if he is just reading a racing form.
