We saw this story line in "The Rifleman," "Alias Smith and Jones," "Rawhide," and "Gunsmoke." This is nothing new. A stranger rides into a town and learns that it's a safe haven for outlaws, as long as they live peacefully. But not every town as a beautiful daughter of the local sheriff who just happens to be head over heels for one of the Wanted outlaws.
Then of course, this Marshal is able to single-handedly come in and clean up the town. Killing one of the main characters does indeed make everything better...in thirty minutes or less!
Of course, this is classic western and always great. Hoby Gilman doesn't hold back and he even puts the sheriff back on the straight and narrow!
