This episode felt way too personal and close to real life. It was all about how Bobby Wheeler left the garage to be an actor but was failing, so the gang tries to cheer him up. The actor himself had left the show in Season 3, rumored to have been because of his drug abuse issues, and this was his very last episode, being brought back in Season 4 to film it. It must have been nice for the cast to reunite, but it really seemed to cut too close to the bone, and some of the emotions during the episode seemed authentic.
Bobby seemed different than before. There seemed to be shame on his face through much of the episode. Overall, that's part of the brilliance of Taxi. It was all about the comedy of human vulnerability and empathy for one another.
