Solid finale

Warning: Spoilers
Plot; A gang of gold thieves use a newly formed neighborhood watch group as interference while they pull their heists.

The 13th and final episode of 'Street Hawk's' all too brief run sends the series out on a high(ish) note. The villains are a tad undercooked in favor of development for the neighborhood watch leader. Not a bad trade off, as it works pretty well here.

Some fun is had as Norman's hi-tech (by 1985 standards) command center is down, forcing Jesse into a few "Use the Force" moments without his eye in the sky for backup.

The stunt work on this series is quite good, and the action with the bike is always top-notch and exciting. Having Tangerine Dream's synth-pop on the soundtrack certainly doesn't hurt.

I loves me 80s super vehicle shows, and while I think 'Airwolf' is still the best of the era, 'Street Hawk'--despite its abbreviated run--is still much better than 'Knight Rider'.

  • Don Swayze, the more famous, talented and handsome of the famous Swayze brothers, makes a brief appearance as a gang leader. Had he been the episode's actual villain, it's likely Street Hawk wouldn't have stood a chance.

Follow the Yellow Gold Road

In the final episode of the series. Street Hawk deals with vigilantism. Something that is in the roots of this show as Street Hawk himself is regarded as a vigilante by the police.

The 12th Street Protective Association, armed with baseball bats takes on a street gang terrorising the neighbourhood. The leader of the gang is played by Don Swayze.

At the same time a gold heist is taking place and the police are slow to respond because they were kept busy by the actions of the vigilantes. The gold thieves decide to use these tactics again for their next heist.

Meanwhile Norman has problems controlling the computers as the phone lines are down. No dial up means the motorbike is not on full throttle.

There is a showdown as the vigilantes go after the band of thieves but they are outgunned and it is for Street Hawk to come to the rescue.

The series never soared, it was all a bit silly. I did like the theme by Tangerine Dream.
