The worst camping trip EVER
owlaurence11 June 2010
Starsky & Hutch, episode... well, who's counting? I really love the relationship between O'Neill and Maybourne. Now that Daniel isn't here anymore, the Colonel really needs someone else to drive him nuts over a can of chill beer. It is a bit of a pity that in the rest of the episode, Maybourne is once again treated as a complete fool.

When Maybourne's clever scheme backfires, both men get stranded in an unknown location, and things get more serious. I must say that the plot is really minimal (and frankly, unoriginal). The episode really focuses on people's reactions: Carter is hysterical, O'Neill just takes it in stride (I guess he's also finding this rather familiar) and Maybourne, who may be the worst camper ever, discovers that one man's paradise is another man's hell. Especially when there's a Goa'uld in the equation.

To conclude, this is an average episode with nothing remarkable nor abysmal about it. It delivers, but SG-1 can do better.

Unoriginal Story with Poor Conclusion
claudio_carvalho28 May 2017
O'Neill is on vacation and is visited by Harry Maybourne that proposes to show a planet with powerful weapons provided he gets a presidential pardon. Jack brings Harry to the SGC and they travel with the SG-1 to a planet to open a portal to the foregoing planet. However Maybourne betrays the SG-1 and tries to cross the portal alone but O'Neill follows him. Harry discloses that the planet would be a lost paradise where he intends to live out of the prison. Further, the portal is a one-way ticket and there is no way to return. Soon they discover that the planet is abandoned and the SGC cannot track O'Neill.

"Paradise Lost" is a good episode of "Stargate SG-1" but with a poor conclusion. The story of two enemies stranded together that need to team-up to survive is not original. My vote is seven.

IMO very interesting and well directed episode

I'm surprised to see mediocre reviews of this episode. I had no clue what was gonna happen in this episode. Every little plot twist was twisty and turny, and i feel like this could have been a simple episode but theyy just found weird ways to keep it moving. It was kind of dark and sad at parts.

Slow

An interesting concept and decently executed but the storyline moves slowly. The abrupt ending is anticlimactic and the sets basic. Acting rom the whole cast is good.
