Episode 30
kevinolzak25 April 2010
Episode 30 begins with the ailing Chester's doctor(Ron Rifkin)calling Billy to his father's bedside("this way Arnold!"),referring to the dead rat that Benson killed(and for which the cops frisk the butler).Eunice confesses her love for the escaped killer Dutch, and Jessica cannot disapprove, because she's married to a murderer! Finally,Dr.Kanter reveals Chester's condition to Jessica(the reason why he was capable of murder),and she allows him to perform a difficult brain operation(which would surely launch the doctor to stardom).Mary is confused by Danny's plans for Elaine, not to let her dress, eat,or sleep, since nothing's good enough for her.He begins to implement the procedure by destroying several dresses and shoes, and pulling her chair out from under her, because "other people have sat in it!" Mary is pleased when Elaine's evening dress is ripped off as she's going out the door("it didn't look as good from the back!") Burt's new secretary Sally(Caroline McWilliams)first comes on to Danny, then does the same to a confused Burt, who is more concerned with workers 40 stories up horsing around with a frisbee. At their favorite Japanese restaurant(with Fred Iwasaki back as the distracted Chef),Jodie proposes to Carol, but she remains uncertain due to her old-fashioned insistence that sex with her husband should be a part of marriage.Tim's mother puts a dying curse on her "fallen priest" son, then has the temerity to die right there in bed.

Zany beyond belief.

Danny decides a new course of action for Elaine, he begins an onslaught of compassion and kindness, insisting that nothing is good enough for his bride.

Tim's mother continues to cause mayhem for her son and daughter in law. Chester faces an anxious wait.

I'm just addicted to this show, another hilarious installment, huge credit to Susan Harris, the writing was spot on once again.

I wondered how they were going to get around The Chester situation, they handled it brilliantly, and of course it was pure Soap.

Plenty of amusing moments here, first of all, seeing Danny doing his best to get rid of Elaine, very funny, she's an absolute nightmare.

Jodie and Carol's lunch was another very funny scene, good to see the same chef back, his reactions were even funnier than the last time.

9/10.
