Most episodes are parodies of other TV shows or movies of the day.
This one is obviously "Charmed"- it's even written into the dialogue of the three girls who are using magic spells to summon a prom date for one of them who had been dissed by a jerk in the teaser.
This episode of "Seven Days" doesn't try to hide the parody that much, and what we end up with is an ironical farce, that happens twice. Once with bad consequences, and then again after a "Backstep".
I gave this one a high rating mostly because it was one of the funnier ones.
