I have had a bit of complaint towards the eight season, in how some of the individual stories in an episode do not really merge together at some point during the episode. "The Nap" is quite the contrary; each story complements the other in such wondrous ways that the end product is an episode that goes right back to the days of the great Larry David.
George, in one of the character's funniest story lines in the season thus far, decides to sleep under his desk. Pure genius! He even goes out of his way to get his desk modified to allow more space to sleep comfortably. Again, genius! But his comfort and solitude may be short lived when Steinbrenner uncovers something.
The story was genius every step of the way. Each scene featured something to truly laugh at, whether it was Larry David's hilarious voice acting for Steinbrenner or George's stupidity. The story took a few twists that I did not expect prior to watching the episode, but they each enhanced the quality of the story.
Kramer's pool story was perfectly in line with the character's many oddities. Elaine's story was again funny, proving just how great it is to laugh at this character! Jerry's story was the surprising part, because I enjoyed it quite a lot. The new design of the apartment was a highlight, and each character's reaction to it was phenomenal!
Although I love the final scene of the episode, where George is found sleeping in one of Jerry's drawers, Seinfeld's final line was poorly delivered. Nevertheless, it was still a hilarious moment in spite of the over the top acting!
"The Nap" is phenomenal as far as "Seinfeld" episodes are concerned. George's story is as good as it was in "The Little Kicks" and "The Comeback" and Jason Alexander is especially brilliant here.
