Hit and miss episode

Kryten starts his own TV show for the prison inmates while Lister appeals.

I enjoyed this one in parts for some of the banter between Lister and Rimmer but found much of it quite average.

The plot is mostly character driven and has a 'Porridge in space' feel to it. Lister's appeal underlies most events and is the basis for its ironic final punchline.

For me the comedy is good in parts but not consistent. It starts off well with some solid banter in the prison cells but becomes more visual for large parts, which for me is where it becomes average. It depends really how funny you find seeing blokes ogling naked women or Lister trying to turn someone's living quarters into a mess.

All performances are good with Craig Charles, Chris Barrie and Robert Llewelyn taking centre stage for most of it. Norman Lovett chips in well as always and Chloe Annette is a good foil to some of the shenanigans.

This episode very much depends on personal tastes as you need to appreciate a lot of the humour for it to work.
