"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Partridge" manages to be both funny and poignant, as Keith Douglas Partridge suddenly takes on the responsibility of looking after his four younger siblings (Reuben asks if he's been talking to a Marine recruiter). However, rather than take the kids to the beach, they wind up listening to a classical music concert in the park, followed by a trip to the museum. Laurie has a movie date with new beau Freddy (Bruce Kimmel); Keith advises him to avoid the drive-in and be home by 10:00 PM. Danny comes up with a rotten scheme to get back at their well meaning but overbearing older brother. First Chris and Tracy reveal what they want to be when they grow up- negroes! Laurie has a 'friend' trying to get over a broken heart, thanking Keith for advising her to date 'the football team!' Danny gives Keith the toughest job, telling him 'the facts of life,' which leaves poor Keith utterly exhausted. Shirley expresses the belief that Keith is a bit young to take on four kids, while Keith confides the fact that it doesn't leave much time for homework! The featured song is Tony Romeo's "Summer Days," from the LP SOUND MAGAZINE, later heard in "Home is Where the Heart Was." Bruce Kimmel, in his first appearance, played Laurie's boyfriends in four more episodes, the next being "The Partridge Papers."
