Michael can't come down from outer space. He has to cowtow to a new employee who bosses everyone around. He shoots his mouth off, not knowing the young woman is the daughter of the station owner. He is summarily fired from his producer job and, for the first time in his life, has to rub elbows with the hoi polloi. He has the only job he find, selling shoes in a discount shoe store. There is a great scene at the employment agency where he can't get out of his zone. It is quite remarkable. There is another plot with Larry and the boys burying a time capsule. Among the items in the capsule is an old hammer George calls Old Blue.

Michael is fired as producer of Vermont Today and ends up working in a shoe store.
A funny Michael episode and the beginning of a story arc where his character goes downhill. He gets fired because he insults a new go-fer who turns out to be the daughter of the new station manager. She is played by Cynthia Stevenson who later appeared as Bob Newhart's daughter on his next sitcom "Bob". There is a funny scene at an employment agency where Michael looks for a job with "mucho moola and perks a-plenty". He is turned away by the employment agent (played by character actress Bibi Osterwald). In addition to all this there is a funny subplot of Larry and the Darryls burying a time capsule.
