Utley in the Apple
Hitchcoc18 March 2023
When Dick gets an invitation to a party in New York in his honor, Joanna can't go. She talks into taking George with him. He is his snobby best here as George dominates everything by being his natural self. At the big party, George charms the executives, and ends up spending the evening with them and having a great time. Dick feigns an illness and goes back to the hotel, feeling sorry for himself. Back at the Stratford, Joanna waits for her friends to show up but they never do. During the evening, Larry and the boys come to cheer her up by playing games (one of them where you reach into a sack and tell what it is you are touching). It's a cute, though predictable episode.

Country boy in the big city

Warning: Spoilers
A hilarious episode featuring George and playing on his innocence as a country hick and lack of socialization.

Dick is to be honored at a publisher's party in New York City. Upon discovering that Joanna cannot come due to an expected visit by some annoying friends, Dick decides to take George (against his better judgment). Dick's fears that George won't fit in with the ritzy guests at the party cause him to make other plans for George but when George decides to forego Dick's plans to keep Dick from going to "the boring party" alone, Dick reluctantly brings George with him. Meanwhile, Joanna waits for her guests, missing EVERYTHING about New York (including sleazy people on the streets).

The title of this episode is based on "Sunday in the Park With George" a musical that ran in Booth Theater in New York in 1984.
